To all my American friends - have a wonderful 4th of July. The only sad note is that you can't enjoy superior Alberta beef for your BBQ!!

Thanks Alberta and I echo Melody's sentiments.

Speaking of beef, wasn't there something about mad cow disease and Canadian beef two months ago? Was that ever resolved?

TMCM -
Well, it was ONE cow in this province that tested positive for BSE and it never made it into the food chain. They have determined it was likely from feed that actually could have come from the US - so the science is telling us that both Cdn and US beef have equal risk - which is pretty damn minimal really. The US borders are still closed to Cdn beef which is REALLY hurting the farmers here. Big prob is Japan saying to the US - import Cdn beef and you lose our business - we don't want the risk! Arrgh.

Alberta I truly hope that science and reason prevails over politics and fear, for when it doesn't we ALL end up being the losers.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go play carnivore for our 4th of July picnic.
