My H is living with the OW for about 3 weeks and her 3 children. How successful are these relationships? He has said he wants to marry her after we divorce. I am confused about letting my 16 year old son see all this going on but he wants to see his father and he drives so I have cooperated.
------------------
joanne
Joanne,
What a mess. I'm sorry for you. Your son is nearly an adult and should be able to see what a mess his dad has created. If he wants to see his dad let him. If you have instilled values in him he will see the wrong in the situation his dad has choosen.

Joanne, I don't know haow sucessful these relationships are but my h has been living with OW for almost 4 months. She has three children but the last I heard they lived with their father. I don't think she is divorced yet. My H also said he wants to marry her after the divorce. He can't afford to get one, I am not going to even if I could afford to get one. But I'm not sure she can either but I got the impression she doesn't want to get married. Very interesting. From what I have read going into this kind of situation rarely works. Affairs are based on fantasy dealing with real life issues living together and deal with the OP childrens causes the fantasy to crash once reality sets in betrayers soon realizes this is not what he/she wanted. And why are they with this person. I'm not sure of the numbers on this but the affairs rarely succeed. If you haven't read already you need to get the book "Private Lies" by Frank Pittman. He talks about this.
------------------
di
