I've had this scenario play out in my mind quite often lately. Let's say a man & woman, both cheating on their spouses with each other, wind up divorcing their respective spouses and then marrying each other...... Both have teen kids from previous marriages, etc... What's the likelihood of happily ever after for them??? It's something I think about all the time...

According to scientific studies, ridiculously slim chance of success in marrying an affair partner and also in second marriages teenage children are likely to reject the new spouse's parenting techniques if they conflict with previous ones.
A double whammy when the new parent is the one that busted up the old family.
Yes, but my H has been gone 5 months and has been living with the OW full time for about 3. She has 3 kids, including a 16 year old boy. Apparently it hasn't been a problem, they don't interact much, but he doesn't apparently doesn't have any "parenting techniques". Her parenting techniques certainly conflict with mine, but except for our just turned 13 year old, she has never met our teenagers and probably never will, if they have anything to say about it. We have one child that although she is very loving was enough to try the patience of her nursery school teacher, who is a good friend and has the patience of a saint, but apparently it is not a problem for the OW - although she did try to talk my H into getting therapy for her and for our sweet, good-natured three year old whom the OW said had too many tantrums. Yes, there relationship may not last, but it will be too late, too late for our marriage and too late for the kids.
