When Daily fears the Unconventional
I am living so everything must be ok.
The meaning I used to find in flowers
Or in the perfume of love
on a summers’ day
Are gone.
But I am here.
And I am nothing more than a clock
With each tick can you hear my body decay?

It is such a shame.
I miss falling into the drunken stupor of love
And not wanting to awake
I miss life and everything it had to offer,
Yet I choose to just stand here and wave.
Goodbye, goodbye,
With dry tears crusting in my eye,
I smile with fondness yet wonder
Why do I feel this way?
Our lives have become
a humdrum of what we have molded.
Do you feel it? That awkwardness of just
Being?

Love, what if tomorrow
Brought you a fire in red lace
Or a life that whirled your spirit more than
This dailyness we have succumbed to
Would you stay?

You are welcome (although I am not sure for what )
Family man-would you stay?
This is a question I asked my H, so this poem is based on our conversation we had two nights ago. H and I are having another child, and I fear we will be kid-toting, mini-van driving soccer team taking..ok, we already are there.
So how do you spice up the life you have? I mean, I am happy, so happy with my life, as it is, but my personal life has been neglected, my need to write and be artistic has suffered (no time).
My personal time with my H has suffered, and I know it will get better, but so much of our days are spent cleaning the house, going to work, taking care of the kids, complaining about our jobs, and talking to one another, having sex every other week...
you just have to ask that famous question
"What IF this IS as good as it gets?"
When I wrote this I was feeling like I was neglecting myself-something I feel often, since it seems everyone else comes first (almost liek a duty for me).
