This one is a bit sad, but it is just a reflection of my recent feelings.

The Stairs to Love

Stumbling up the stairs to love,
Hands entwined. Who cares about
the cobwebs, or the chipping paint. Love
is at the top, I whisper.
You smile that wonderful smile,
eyes sparkling. For you know it too.
Thinking, conspiring, about all the dreams
The Hopes.
We can’t help but kiss
the effects of Love already taking hold.
My breath grows faster…
Fleeting.
There are others on the stairs,
Some trip, some are way ahead
But we don’t have time to notice them.
Slowly
We inch up each step,
Forever is in our grasp, oh yes,
We have all the time in the world, my Love!
Dance with me? Sing with me? Breathe with me?
Away
Go all the problems right?
That is why love is so strong.

But I’ve noticed the stairs are a bit dusty lately.
You’re right about that. Yes, the cobwebs you say
You’ll get right to them, right after…

I can’t feel your hands. I’m not sure I’ve seen
Your eyes in a long while, and that…sparkle in those blue eyes.
Or were they green?
Where have you gone? I hear an echo,
Slightly skewed by time…
Stumbling down the stairs to Love.

Angel-

What can I say.....That's a beautiful poem and really strikes home with my feelings as of late as well. I hope when your stumbling goes away you find yourself looking into those familiar eyes.

God bless- G

Thank you so much for your comments and praise. I was afraid people would not like it because it had a more meloncholy tone to it. So I appreciate it very much, especially when I'm feeling kinda stressed and low. It's nice to have the little morale boosts! God bless!
