Please pray for me to be able to make the decision to forgive my husband for his affair. It was a brief physical affair and has been over for nine months. I have only known about it for six weeks.
I know I need to forgive him and have been biblically instructed to do so. I am having a really hard time and have found myself mad at God too. I know that is so wrong. I don't want to feel this.
Please can someone pray for me that God will give me the power and love to forgive this wrong and to see God's love and goodness? I don't want to be eaten up with the hate and bitterness anymore.

Dead Inside,
I understand how you feel. I felt that way too after discovering my husband's affair. It is hard to forgive them. They don't deserve it, but by faith we can forgive and must. If we don't forgive them, our God will not forgive us. Ask the Lord to show you how to forgive him and to take all the pain and hurt away. He will. He did this for me.
You're in my prayers.
Dear Father, I lift up Dead Inside to You, asking that the Holy Spirit fill her to overflowing, helping her to forgive her husband, totally and completely, without looking back, the way that You have forgiven him, and us. Give her Your peace Lord, the peace that passes all understanding, that will heal her broken heart. Show her Lord, the way to forgive her husband. Hold her hand, and guide her through. Lord, we thank You from the bottom of our hearts for restoring this marriage. We praise You, Father. Thank You Father for removing all feelings of hatred and unforgiveness within Dead Inside. Lord, we are so glad You are our Savior and our King. IJN I pray, AMEN

Dear Heavenly Father,
I pray for you to bring this marriage back together according to Your will. Give this wife the strength and will to forgive her husband. Help her to know that she knows that she knows that she knows that through You Lord, all things are possible. Build up her faith Father. Instill Your Holy Spirit in her heart to forgive. Help her to remember that it is in our darkest hour that we must have faith. Through her faith, I claim the forgiveness she has for her husband. In Christ Jesus Name, I do pray.
AMEN

I really hate seeing that I am not the only one going through this. Sometimes no matter how bad it is, misery does not love company. I never want to see someone hurting as bad as this does. I am praying for you. I hope God gives you peace.

quote:
Originally posted by Dead Inside:
Please pray for me to be able to make the decision to forgive my husband for his affair. Hi! I posted a note to you in response to your prayer for me. I hope you get a chance to read it. I want you to know that you are not alone. We are all God's children and feel each other's pain. I wish I knew your name but God knows who you are. I will keep you in my prayers.
Our Most Loving and Merciful Father,
I lift up this woman and her children to you Lord. I pray that you will give her a benevolent spirit, Lord. Please sooth her heart and comfort her spirit. Show her heart how to forgive Lord. As you forgive us our sins, help us to forgive those who sin against us. I pray Lord that her husband is truly repentant of his transgression in their marriage. Please God, renew their love for one another and take away the bitterness and pain. Help her Lord to forgive and to be more like You in that when we forgive we let go of past sins against us as if they never were. In Jesus' name I pray Amen
Letting go of bitterness is a very difficult thing to do. I know. If you truly want a reconcilliation and your H is willing. The only way is to forgive and rebuild. Try to be a Godly wife and if you haven't read Dr. Harley's book "Your Love and Marriage" , read it. His counseling and God's work in my life have really helped me to see that I will not give up on my marriage and I will exert every last drop of effort from the bottom of my heart and soul to try again. Broken marriages are not God's will. He doesn't want that. Sometimes we can't control what our H's do or feel, but put it in God's hand and he will hold you up. You will be victorious. I have faith in that. The best of luck to you. Hope to hear from you soon.
Cindy

Dear DE, I learned something along the way thru my seperation(almost 2 yrs) and many affairs. I started asking God to love my wife through me and it has worked and been such a blessing for me. Read 1 cor 13 everyday also it can really help. When you start to feel the anger and resentment ask God to love your husband through your heart. One day i was really mad at God for allowing this to happen and said i was always faithful to her and she has ripped my heart out. God then said but you have been unfaithful to me many times in your life but i still love you and i forgive you. That woke me up and started the healing in my own heart from my lack of forgiveness.I pray oh Lord, that you would heal DEs heart and marriage and touch her heart with your loving and forgiving spirit. Love her husband through her heart and strenthen her by your Holy Spirit. In Jesus name,Amen

St. Matthew 5:6 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall shall obtainmercy.
St.Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, "What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
St.Matthew 18:21-35
Something that I find helps me forgive is to ask God to forgive him...and Tell your husband you forgive him...and give it to God...give the problem to God and forget about it...don't take it back from God and worry about it...once you have given it to God leave it to him to work it out....when we give our problems to God we tend to take them back...this interfers with Gods plan for us....give it to God and tell Him that you don't have the strenght and understanding to do it....He will do it for you.
Lord I pray that you will touch her heart and give her the strenght to lift her problems up to you...and the courage in you to leave them there....that you will fill her heart with forgiveness and understanding and except what you are doing in her life and her husbands...that you will bless them both and heal the relationship and show them your plan...and show them the love you have for both of them...Amen
------------------
