Becca, for additional encouragement, please read my post as Liz Smith "A story of forgiving".
It has been three months since my h. confessed his affair. It was a sexual and romantic affair with a co-worker that lasted 14 months, until April 1999. We are in counseling and he wants to make our 'new' relationship work. We even plan to have a renewal ceremony when we are ready to write new vows.
(I want a new ring too, and want to replace his--he didn't take it off to sleep with her --ick.)
So, I guess it is early to call us a success story, but I KNOW we would not be together if I hadn't been Plan A'ing for the past year!!!
MB works.
Liz Smith, Pearl of Great Price
------------------

"I have found the Pearl of Great Price"
Becca
I'm glad I could help you!
Those ladies have been my inspiration and guided me through a lot. When I hear the word "success" I immediately think of them.
So print up their stories. Reread them and remember how happy they are now. They have been through every emotion we have.
If your H will read them go for it!!
I had my H read a little at the beginning. I don't think he believed success was possible.
Hang in there! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

Yes,Liz! Your story of forgiveness is moving and makes me crave for that moment for us. Just not ready yet. Letting go of the pain is hard for me; I think it's because of the double betrayal. At our last anniversary 3mths. after the affair ended I expressed my need to start all over in our relationship and one day celebrate our success with renewing our vows. The ring thing is awfully yucky situation! H seemed game with the thought but he is willing to do anything to make it work. (Wish he would talk more. ) Thank you for the reply,Liz.Take Care,
BECCA
