Hello All Mber's,
We had strong 50 mile an hour winds a few weeks ago and it tore shingles from my roof, now many bare spots. I need prayers as the insurance co will not help! Not fair as I pay a good price for home owners. Maybe prayers will send a rural program my way without cost as I am on Workers Comp! No family to help all say they have to many problems of their own. Gosh I help them when needed <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" /> . I know I can count on all of you and God!

Thank you and God Bless you All!

LovenCare,

I have prayed for you a roof. I use to work in insurance and I am just wondering what reason did they give you for not paying for your roof? There shouldn't be a reason as long as your premium was paid. Even if the roof was already in bad shape before the storm, there should still be payment with a deduction for the wear already there before storm. I will understand if it is none of my business. Just didn't understnd.

Hello Gentle,
Thank you for your prayer and guestion!
The adjuster told me that there was not enough damaged of torn shingles to amount even to my deductable but now get this but the roof was bare where they are torn off and the roof needs a new one, said it was bad. This roof is only 8-9 years old. I had contractors tell me that the insurance I have which is allstate beats everyone out of roofs! Adjuster did tell me that if it leaks inside they will repair the inside - oh good! Thank you and God Bless You!

LoveNcare,

I would suggest you get a contractor to give you and estimate to repair the roof. If it is higher than your deductible then they must pay to have it repair. They can deduct some off if the roof was old already but it shouldn't be that much if the estimate is much higher than the deductible.

If this is the case and they still will not pay then call the Dept. of Insurance for your state and they will look into it. They have like 30 days to investigate. The insurance company doesn't always have the final say. Believe me, they will get by with not paying if they can. But, you have rights that your state regulates. Maybe this will help. If the roof is leaking I don't see how it can be lower to repair than the deductible. That just don't add up.

Hello Gentle,
I had a contractor out today - a very good one family member recomended as this one stands behind his work! He gave me an estimate of 3900 and deductable is only 250. He told me the snow coming would present a huge problem and this roof will not survive. Atleast the sub flooring for the roof are good, not mushy! I am in NY have any ideas as to where I call?
Thank you once more for helping! God Bless You!

LoveNCare,

Just do a search for New York dept of insurance. I am sure you will find them. I will try also. This is how I found the one for my state. I have been to the site several times and read laws and even emailed questions, which were promptly answered.

State laws do vary from state to state, but there are standard insurance forms that are used nationally. Allstate will use these standard form because that are a standard insurance company. The forms are only different when you get into something like brokers and high risk stuff. I spent 2 years studying these forms and being tested on them. That is why I am questioning them not covering this claim. Read the forms included in your policy. You should have all coverage and exclusion forms that apply to your coverage. These may not be in renewal materials, but they will be in your policy which has to be mailed to you.

I hope this helps, let me know how it goes. I haven't worked in insurance in awhile but, I will try and answer your questions.

Hello Gentle,
Thank you for your information and I will work on it this week! Have been off here a day or so as I had to go 30 miles away for my grandkids! Promised to take them Halloweening! Frightfull experience! LOL! My son left his wife and 4 babies so I do what I can! I love the little rugrats! So cute.

I have read some of your threads and may I tell you I feel bad that you also have suffered. We all at MB are here for a reason. I believe God gives us tools and new friends to soak up our pain! I thank God for sending you to me. I am lost when it comes to all these problems and no money. I do know there is an answer to this roof and maybe it is time Allstate stopped cheating people.

Why don't you join us on the phone conference " The Purpose Driven Life Book?
It is great to share personally. The three others are so knowledgeable and offer such great insight to the word of God.

God Bless you and Thank you again.

Hello AW!
Thank you so much for your prayers.
Now I can't afford anything as my dear WH lost his job and I fear the worst as he is asking for the courts to disslove my support! I am still standing firm against this divorce which is to go to court Dec 19. I will not sign for a divorce now or in 20 years!
My lawyer did not have the courtesy to call me and let me know this, so I had to almost fall off my chair! Boy what a day! I will be glad when I finally sleep and get up with a clear head and more strength to get the ball rolling towards a more possitive attitude! God is really tearing my WH apart, and it is making me a wreck. I will ask God not to step so hard on my toes as they hurt already!

May God Bless you and hold you tight
