You know, the health community has recently spoken of the results of a study on prayer. There apparently was a significant result regarding prayer for people who are ill. I don't have the "numbers" but I heard that people who were prayed for got healthier and did so more quickly than those who weren't. The clincher to this, is that there was no difference in the statistics for those that knew they were prayed for and those that did not know that they were being prayed for.
Perhaps even the most jaded of us should keep this study in mind ... and try prayer.
Believe me, I am not by any means a fanatically or even particularly zealous Christian - I am just a woman with sins and warts like all of us here. But when scientific results bear out the power of prayer, it might be time to change those paradigms ...
------------------
terri
I believe in miracles...

terri,
I agree!! Prayers have helped ME to find a sense of peace internally. For many, many months I prayed for God to bring my H back to me. Several weeks ago I changed my prayer to something like this:
God, THY will be done. Give me the strength to accept THY will and the courage and fortitude to dig REALLY deep and pull that strength out when I need it.
Sort of a modified Serenity prayer....
This has helped me 100%. I DO believe that I will survive this and I DO believe that I will find love and happiness again. I WANT it to be with my H, but if H chooses not, God will bring another into my life at some point in the future. My beliefs....
Roll Me Away

------------------
"Life is made up, not of great sacrifices or duties, but of little things in which smiles and kindnesses and small obligations, given habitually, are what win and preserve the heart and secure comfort."
Sir Humphry Davy
Amen. My faith had waned. Still does in my darkest hours. But it has gotten me through this, without a doubt. Good post.
Lori

I agree that prayer is a powerful thing. Never stop praying that God's will be done. He is a God of healing and restoration.
