I thought I knew God. I have been born again, i was babtized, praised God, went to church every sunday. very involved in church activities. Prayed, learning to speak in tongues. I thought I was someone.
I had an affair. 3 with the same man. i turned from God. I felt such shame in what I was doing.
My H was saved 2 years ago. was absolutely abuseive and mean.
He is so christ like now, you would never know he'd been so rotten.
God has done such a healing in my life. I have spent the last few months in deep sin, i couldn't see daylight, and I was in it. I found that in my affair, emotional stuff had been brought to the surface. Problems stemming from childhood(abuse)and problems in my marriage(abuse). I am learning to forgive for the stuff done to me, i have learned to talk to my mother about some of the stuff. God opened those doors. god opened the doors to the healing of my marriage. I am able to talk to my H with no problems. he isn't going to come unglued at the slightest problems, cut me down ect.
I cut off all contact with OM over a week ago, and I find that the Lord has me by the hand leading me away from all that had occured. He has given me the strenght to stay away from all that.
In getting away from that sin, I find I am so hungry for God. I want to be the wife and mother and person God wants me to be.
A friend gave me some prayers that I posted in the general questions and recovery area, that absolutely touched my soul. Mitzi posted back that they came from the book, "Power of a Praying Wife". And glory be, i am finding that you all have posted some from this book. Although, I didn;t know that there was a workbook withit, i will look for it when I get to colorado springs monday.
I want to ask you all to keep me in prayer and my family. We are working on a new marriage(the old one is dead) adn we need as much prayer as possible [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
I live in the middle of no where.. Our church hasn't had a pastor for almost 3 years and we are just getting one now. so we haven't had much support from our church. AS a matter of fact, I haven't stepped foot in church since the day i rekindled my affair and not one person has called to say"hey is everything ok?". So we sort of feel left out in the dark. WE are members of this church for 4 years so we feel really alone at times. There isn't any bible studies or anything that goes on except sunday morning and prayer wed.eve. so, our church has really foundered.
anyway, keep us in prayer and I will read and be here daily, i need it.
Mercy

POPW is a tremendous book mercy. I Praise God that he intervened in your life! And, we are so glad you are here.
Please know I will be praying for you, along with the others. Also, pray for the Lord to lead you to a church. I did, and he led me to a great Spirit-filled church. I am anxious to go at every service. The Holy Spirit is really moving in this church. And, along the the church, he supplied 3 ladies with alcoholic husbands, who come to church alone, and we started a prayer group! God is so awesome!
Blessings,
AW

Welcome, mercy. This is such a great place. The ladies here are so supportive and encouraging. I love them dearly and they feel like best friends even though we have actually never met. The book Power of a praying wife is such an inspiration. The first chapter the wife I think is safe to say everyone here was so amazed and had their eyes opened. We have to deal with our own relationships with Christ first before we can intervene with our husbands. Praise the Lord, the work God is doing in your life and marriage.
Father,
Thank you for your love and thank you for going after your lamb mercy and carrying her home on your shoulders. We rejoice with You for her return. Lord, increase her desire for You and increase her want to want You. Lead a strong pastor to the church and let it become a spirit filled church of community and bible study and spiritual rebirth for all the members. Lord, thank You for bring mercy to this forum. We praise You for Your plan that has joined us all together. God has a plan even in this group. Amen.

Well Mercy, You are in a bible study now! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
We welcome you and trust this will be as much of a blessing to you as it has to all of us. This study is truly life changing. God is using it to not only teach us how to pray for our husbands but change us into women God can find pleasure in.
It is hard when you don't have access to spiritual food in your area but the puter puts so much in your hands that you don't have there. This prayer and study group is as committed to each other as any study I have ever been in.
I have grown to love these ladies and though it has taken time I now can recall each situation and pray specifically throughout the day when their name comes to mind.
God has wonderful plans for you and your marriage mercy.......just hang on for your in for a great adventure! Post often and get to know us and we'll get to know you.
Father, I thank you for this new sister and her desire to follow you. Lead her in Your word to a greater depth of love then she's ever known. Heal the hurts of her past not only in her marriage but in her childhood. Fill her with more of Yourself Lord, she is hungry for you. Help Mercy to put You first in her life in everything that she may sense Your leading and live in total obedience to you. Bless this family and restore their love for each other. IJN
Blessings, Taj
------------------
"Perfect love casts out fear" I John 4:18

Mercy,
I got the following in my email today. Made me think of you!
"Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy" Matthew 5.7
"What doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God." Note that right in the middle of these requirements is "to love mercy." God thinks highly of mercy. It is one of his own characteristics.
Throughout the Old and New Testament he is referred to as "merciful."
Thank you Mercy, for being merciful!

AW,
Thank you so much for this post. I know that God led me to this place! Praise God for all his love and joy and healing!
I went to church for the first time in 4 months and the pastor(soon to be ours!) said that God has a plan for all of us, and to remember that we are all created differently and uniquely, and that is how it is with the plans he has for us.
This 'email' you got is what my friend JUne has been trying to tell me for months. That God does love me and i am so special in his eyes. I couldn't see it until this very moment.
Praise god for all you ladies!
MErcy
