<BR>Hi Everyone -<P>I am sorry to have disappeared again....things are completely crazy for me right now (like that's anything new!!!) and just wanted to stop by to let those who care know that I'm still alive....<P>Nothing too new to report on the marriage front. STILL have not connected with my lawyer since the court date I last wrote about....ARGH!!! H informs me that the court set a late May date for trial start if it gets that far. I have no clue what's going on and - quite frankly - it isn't even in the forefront of my thoughts.....the divorce that is!<P>I have been busy looking into job options, doing some writing and smoozing for connections on that front.....have been trying to figure finances as best as I can.<BR>Made Dr appointments while I still have Medical Insurance and am looking into what I will have to do to have some coverage when/if it runs out with H.<P>The biggest difficulty I am having is with my baby (yes - the dog!!! and stop laughing!!!)<P>She hurt her leg.....Vet says possible ruptured ligament. She's on meds right now along with staying off it.....do you know how hard it is to keep a happy, hyper 105lb. dog laying down all day and night? I think I am going to have ruptured body parts by the time this is done with!!!!! LOL!!!<P>She was doing pretty good till Sunday....took her outside to do her business and the neighbor came out and of course, Britt (the dog) had to go spazz and wrenched the leg....she's not bouncing back from it yet and I am scared that she REALLY did a lot of further damage!!<P>Surgery is probably going to be needed....no money and can't lift her. This is going to be another hurdle to get through - but I just keep getting stronger - right? <P>Will be interesting to see how much H is going to help with this.......<P>Anyway, thanks if you could just say a little prayer for her - she has comforted me sooooo much through this nightmare. Hi Sheba, <P>I will think of all of you in my thoughts to God tonight.<P>I know how it is with the dog. I had to take one of our dogs to vet because of injury and it cost a lot of money and H got mad at me. What else can you do? Luckly he is OK. And I know what a headache insurance worries are. Ever since all this started I have developed high blood pressure and always had low blood pressure before all this mess. I wish you and your little dog the best.<P>Pam

Sheba,<BR>It is the pits when our "kids" get sick and we can't fix it right away. Hang tough. I'll pray right now that Britt will be healed. Maybe God is using this as a bridge between you and h right now???

Oh sheba, there we go with the twin things again!!!!!!! <P>My dog had an operation in December, she had a tumour. It turned out quite alright, it wasn't malignant, but we spend almost $2000 on the operation. In February, she was running with us outside, slipped on the ice and wouldn't get up properly. WE took her to the emerg vet( big bucks by the way) . Something wrong with one disk, she was put on steroid medication and ( more big bucks) but we were told that most probably only an operation can really work.She can walk, but since the messages don't pass to the brain properly, she kips falling down on her but or just slipping - hind legs are affected- . I don't see any major improvements with the medication, but can't afford another $2000 for one more operation, and just don't know what to do. And she can get even worse according to the vet, if it gets worse she will be paralized, at least on the back legs.<BR>So you see, twin, do I understand!!!!!!!<P><BR>Right when we thought we were getting better financially!<P>Oh well, if life just stopped changing the height of the basket before we score!<P>I'll be thinking of you and your "baby"<BR>Hugs<BR>Hope she's better now<BR>Kat

Hi All,<P>Go ahead and cuss me.....I am a neglectful and rude person for not responding here til now.....I am sorry!<P>Thank you all soooo much for caring and prayers. Britt still isn't bouncing back from the leg yet....will give it more time and see.<P>She has had a food change and between that and the meds - she had a bout with stomach upsetness (yes, barfing!!!) and it hasn't been pleasant for her or me!! I wretch at that stuff!!! Good thing I don't have children....this dog (and H of course!!) are quite enough for me!!!<BR>LOL!!!<P>Thank you again for your prayers for her (and for me!!)<P>Love you all and big hugs,<P>Sheba

Sheba,<BR>I must have missed this thread earlier.<P>My heart goes out to you.<P>I am also an ICU nurse to my ailing 16 year old Puppy. <P>Kat1...my dog has a spinal thing like you are describing, but it is more a degenerative thing from old age. Is your dog "fisting" his/her back feet?<P>My dog is about 50 lbs, so I can pick her up and carry her around. Call it a weight lifting program for upper body strength <P>She can no longer get up on her own, but she can walk with aid. Healthy as a horse from the waist up, no pain that I can see unless I pick her up funny, and still alert and interactive with the family. Good appetite, too.<P>Someday we will have to make a hard decision, but for now she seems to be happy to have me wait on her 24/7.<P>It is cutting into the rest of my life. Fortunately H couldn't put her to sleep at this stage, either.<P>Basically I spent the winter on my front lawn...the worst was when my lawn was basically a glacier and both of us (dog and I) would slide around and fall down. I had to go through that with the dog I had before Britt....Very Difficult time and decision!! Believe it or not my H took it worse than I and it was my dog from before "him"!<P>It sounds like you are getting along alright with the care....hope it continues.<P>You made me chuckle though. First with the visions on the ice and than an outright "snort" laugh when you said you told H he would get the same kind of care......you're priceless!!!!<P>HUGS,<P>Sheba
