My H told me on Monday that he was going to stop drinking, which I didn't really think he could or would do without professional help and I was right. Last night he was out drinking and I knew the minute he came home. His drinking has cost us our marriage and led to his affair with the OW who enables him to drink because she drinks right along with him and doesn't admit that he has a problem.
When he came home this morning (2am) I didn't know what to say or should I say nothing. I asked if he had been drinking and he said a few. I replied that the number of drinks wasn't the point it was the fact that he was drinking.
I just feel sometimes it is time for me to throw in the towel on us just like he did seven months ago when he fell for the OW. Meanwhile my lawyer was suppose to send a letter to my H's lawyer about marital asset separtation and it has been three weeks and nothing. So here I am in limbo. My H is having his cake, eating it and continuing to raise emotional havoc with me. I want an outcome one way or the other.
So I have been trying to ignore him as much as I can seeing he is still at home. I am gone twelve hours during the day at work and when I get home I do my own thing and he is usually in the garage working. Then I go to bed before he comes in and he comes in the house usually after I am asleep. Not much communication but at least there isn't much time for fighting either.
Any good advice????? I feel so lost still like I am treading water and not going anywhere.

bc,
Really, really it is time you contacted AA. YOU contact AA, explain your situation. In full.
If for some reason you have done so in the past, and you did not like the people, place, time, whatever, you MUST locate another one. EVen if you have to drive 2 hours. Or get inital telephone counsoling from another town. Whatever. Find a way. You cannot do this without PROFESSIONAL help. Neither can your husband. It is NOT a sign of weakness, no will, lack of intelligence, or any other foolish thoughts. It is the EXACT opposit.
It is a sign of intelligence to know when to find expert advice. It is a sign of bravery. It is a sign of strenght. You have all of these attributes inside of you. They are there. They are also inside your husband, but buried very very deeply.
I want you to pick up that phone RIGHT NOW. Call information. ASK for lots of phone numbers to different AA meetings. Ask for a National AA headquarters. Look for an AA web site. you have dealt with this alone long enough. Act NOW. PICK UP THAT PHONE!!!
