The test, like most of those widely used by psychologists and social workers, is copyrighted. So you will not find the test on the net. However, the complete name is the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory. The evaluation is CONFIDENTIAL.<P>When I received my evaluation report, it said "confidential". My employer changed insurance providers, and one of the qualifying questions asked if I had a psychological evaluation. I told them yes, it was for a custody case. <P>They insisted on having a copy of the evaluation. My attorney warned me not to send it to the insurance company - to keep me out of hot water.<P>Very interesting. Thanks Gramps

If you go to a college library you can check out a book (Trying to remember a name I think it's Barrons but will have to look back at my psych notes.) Anyway it will give you info on the test. It should give you a reliability number which is basically how accurately you would get the same result if taking the test again. A validity number which is how accurate the test measures what it is supposed to measure, and a general description. Generally numbers above 70 percent (if I remember right) are considered very good tests and are trustworthy. My recollection of the MMPI is that it is a test with a high validity and reliability score. I have a testing and assessment book at home so I can go look it up. <P>No test is perfect though and most evaluators use multiple indicators before making any decision. <P>Another place you can look is again at the library. There is a database called psych lit. (I hope that's right. Gosh get out of school for a few years and the memory disappears) It should give you any recent research in regards to the test. My guess is that because it is such a standard and accepted test though that there will be far more research where the test is just used than actual critical reviews.<P>Hope this helps.
