Just a brief word of encouragement and hope.
DO NOT GIVE UP.
Just 8 months ago my h. was determined that we should divorce because of his affair--which had been over for a few months.
This summer we will renew our vows on a family cruise (privately, without our kids knowledge).
miracles do happen...don't give up if you still have any strength left to work on your relationship.
[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [img]http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif[/img] [img]http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif[/img] [img]http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif[/img] [img]http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif[/img]
lizzie, her husband's 'Pearl of Great Price'

How I did it:
1) I prayed like crazy, and Lor and I started the Women's Bible Study here.
2) I went to my Dr. for STD screening and anti-deps, as well as a counseling referral.
3) my HMO covered my visits, because I had a diagnosis of "Acute Panic Attacks" (NO ****, I was panicky!)
4) He moved out and I left him alone as he stayed with our good friend, a pastor that I kept in touch with daily
5) I let him come here to tuck boys in each night and get his mail, and eat with us if he wanted to...
6) After two weeks, I emailed him the following message:
Isaiah 43:19 "Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth, shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
He called and asked me out to dinner...came home here that night, and never left again.
7) Sex -- lots of willingness to both talk about it and make time for it, and to gently renew our physical relationship a step at a time.
8) He started coming to the counselor when I was able to convince him to see her alone once. (He thought that as MY counselor, she would treat him like scum, she didn't!)
we still
9)see the counselor once a month,
10)date every week, and
11)deal with problems the same day they happen, and
12) I STILL pray like crazy!
hope this helps,
lizzie/pearl of great price
