I am so sorry to read about your child's kitten. That must have been so horrible for everyone, especially your 11 and 4 year olds. It is so hard for children (and us adults too) to lose a beloved pet, especially under such circumstances.

Thank you, Nellie.<P>You are right, it was horrible. It still is. Especially on the heals of losing their old friend, our dog a couple of weeks ago.<P>And although the 4 year old doesn't know it was our remaining dog, and thankfully didn't see the kitten herself, the rest of us have conflicting feelings.<P>I don't think the dog meant to do it, we have three other cats and other neighborhood cats and nothing like this has ever happened.<P>Maybe the kitten pounced on him in his sleep or something, who knows, still it was devastating to know he did it.<P>And the girls and I were hit by a drunk driver on vacation and stranded on the highway for hours in May.<P>I think we have sustained enough for now. Thank you so much for your kind words.
