Intellectually, I know it is perfectly normal for a man's sex drive to decrease as he gets older. Prior to d-day, I never gave it a second thought. But now, when he's less than interested, I'm asking myself "Is it me? Is he thinking about her?" If there are others who have gone through this, how do you keep from taking it personally? (BTW, the affair has been over for some time now.)

Barbara Ann,
I'm still having problems with it, although things are much better. A couple of years ago, my H couldn't even do much of anything with me, if he bothered to try. Now, he doesn't have any problem with performance, but seems to be able to take sex or leave it. This is a guy who used to be ALWAYS wanting sex! I'm thinking of having his testosterone levels checked! I am beginning the process of getting this weight off....and I hope it works!

If your husband is over 40, the testosterone levels HAVE INDEED DROPPED substantially. Research has also shown that a new woman results in an increase in testosterone levels. This single biologic fact is probably responsible for half of the male MLC affairs (IMHO).
Think about it. She made him feel "manly". This comes straight from the above biologic response.
Increase his testosterone level, via DHEA, and he'll be your tiger once more!
Bama
