My dad talked to Robin tonight. I can't remember exactly what he said but here's the jist of it.
He told her that he is coming 3000 miles to see Abbey's face x-mas morning. We are still family no matter what is ging on between you and Bill. I pray everyday you will work it out. She mighthave mumbled we will. He said she was crying and was hard to hear. He told her we need to have x-mas dinner as a family if for nothing else then for Abbey. He did all of this in a loving manor, I can't remember if he told her that he still loved her. He also tlod her he was making his famos anti-pasta, she LOVES that. He also went into our history of great x-mases of the past 3 years. They have been coming every year since Abbey was born. I hope this will help her get her head cleared up enough to make the right desissions. It is now between Robin and God.
Please PRAY He will continue His work in her heart. Some good old fashioned knee burning carpet prayers will be most appretiated.
I talked to her tonight for a while. First time she has called me to chat in a whlie. I stuck to my plan and it was easy. I wonder if this mornings conversation led into that.
I have to keep this in God's hands now.
Oh, did I mention she was absolutely DREADING seeing my dad. He called her to break the ice. Now she has nothing to fear. My dad loves her very much, I think he got that across to her.
It's going to be hard not to pin her down on a decission about haveing dinner with us. I probably need to let her come to me.
Tonight she said she was going to do some step work, another first, getting into the solution. Hewlp me stay focussed and not push her.
Thanks,
Bill
"commit to the Lord what ever you do, and your plans will succeed" Proverbs16:3
------------------
BB
Hey Bill,
I hope that your father's words helped influence Robin's decision on what she SHOULD do for x-mas.
I know that my H dreaded talking to my dad about this whole mess he got us into. My dad is a Psychiatrist and can a fairly intimidating to speak to. My father is also a cheater himself, so he did have some clue as to what lead H astray. I know that if H didn't care about our relationship he wouldn't have put himself through the agony of speaking to dear old dad.
Stay focused on Abbey and the holiday. Be contagiously positive. Make it so that Robin wants to be around you and family. This can only be a good thing.
Good luck!

I imagine you all know how much your encouragement keeps me hopeful. I wish I could express it better.
It's all I can do to not "help" her along.
I am fighting to stay out of God's way.
Today I called a bunch of family members both her's and mine, and asked the m to pray tha God puts the Holy Spirit heavily on her heart, to keep putting up sign posts of His will, to give her the power to act on it, and to show her that she need not fear the road to reconciliation.
All those of faith please join in my vigil.
Thank you again,
Bill
"commit to the Lord what ever you do, and your plans will succeed" Proverbs16:3

------------------
BB
Glad to hear the good news, Bill! The candle will be burning for all of us tonight, once again. Where there is light, there is hope.
