I am plagerizing Hummningbird here with a twist-imitation is the sincerest form of flattery-
I read your post, Hummingbird, and it dawned on me that what you felt for your OM is the same way I feel towards my husband.
I get excited when I see his truck turn the corner by the pond and watch him drive towards our house from my kitchen window. I still run into the bathroom after twenty years and check how I look before I hear the garage door open.
When I hear his voice, I melt. What a great voice. He can be reading the nutritional information off a box of cereal and he has my attention. I love to hear him read to me, tell me about his day-I'm a captive audience. I have always hung on his every word. Nothing's changed.
Sometimes, I walk up to him and put my arms around him and breathe in deeply just because I love the way he smells. He thinks I'm checking to see if he's been drinking, but I'm not.
In bed, we roll over into each other every night and hold each other. I like to bury my face into the back of his neck and smell his skin and feel his warmth.
When I put my hand in his, the touch of his skin sends little electrical impulses into me. I like the roughness of his hands.
Our chemistry has always taken us both aback with a "whoa" what was that? Did you feel that, too? I still can't beleive he could ever have been with someone else after all this.
He makes me laugh-he's hilarious. I love his dry wit. One day we were driving down the road. He was in a 'mood'. There were a lot of garage sales going on that day. Signs all over the place. One sign said "Bizaar Today". He grumbled, "Bizarre today, normal tomorrow." I guess you had to be there-it was all in the delivery. He makes up words to popular songs using my nickname in them and changing the lyrics into hilarious parodies.
I love looking into his eyes and connecting with him. We still marvel how we finish each other's sentences.
I'm not the betrayer, but I would like to hear from the betrayers out there what pull they feel from their spouse-their attraction to their spouse and how they feel when they are at a party and look at their spouse from across the room and their eyes meet.
I would like to see more emphasis and focus on our spouses and what made them special to us and those of you in recovery, what you are rediscovering with your spouse now. Valentine's Day will be here soon. It's a good opportunity to appreciate the subleties that drew you to your spouse when they were your love affair.
I really need to remember all the reasons I love my husband right now.

that's how i feel about my H...i think i only married him for the way he smells, sometimes.
when he was living with OW, and knew i didn't know about it, he would come home one night every weekend, and it was HOT, and he would tell me he should divorce me and keep me as his mistress. i never knew that i WAS until much later. very odd.
------------------
www.alladvantage.com
ID# atp-113
