I have been married for almost 4 years. I love my husband with all my heart, but...A couple of years ago I had a car wreck and broke my back in 7 places. Due to the medication and stress, I became a person he just didn't know. I was mean and took everything out on him. I have began getting Therapy for my issues and I have made a noticable change in my personality. I am no longer mean! I am overweight and have very low self esteem. My husband has been very hurt at my hand and is distancing himself. How can I make it better. I am wanting to prove myself, I just need time. I am worried he won't give it. He says he still loves me, and that he wants to work on it. The problem is, trust. Neither of us trust the other one. He doesn't trust that I will be kind and not the hateful thing I was before, and I don't trust that he truly loves me. Help. I am falling apart.

Well Needshope,

How about you both accept that right now you don't trust one another? Make a pact that you will talk honestly and openly about how you feel?

Most importantly I believe trust is built, so by your actions you will be trusted. If you both acknowledge that you have a goal to work towards.

Do you both read and get help say counselling and things like that? Also books like His Needs Her Needs will help?

Take care of yourself also.

Ben.

You need to learn about detachment and co dependency.
