Your in a tough place. These games that kids love to play are hideous and seem to cause much greater conflicts than the old game of Monopoly ever did! I tended to take the controls of the games for a period of time and really didn't pay much attention on who did what, and who's sharing and not sharing...and that is what seemed to work best.
But your H reaction favoring his son is a warning sign of what can become of the relationship between the sibblings, all three sibblings. It just isn't fair to teach the kids how to "revenge" each other. You really need to open up this subject with him and create the rules together that both of you are satisfied with.
These small issues will only become big issues. I would suggest that you set up a policy between you and your H that in the future, if any arguments arise over the playing of these games, the controls of all games are just taken away from everyone.
To seperate the girls at this point while your away will only cause more seperation for your family and will again show favortism between sibblings and will only cause more problems. Good luck to you. I hope you can work this out now before it really hurts the relationships between the kids.
Sometimes we hear (and believe) our own children better than our step children because we know them better. The hard part is loving and treating them the same, even and especially when we feel they are being treated unfairly by their step-parent. I suggest that the games should be taken away completely until the children can work out an agreement that you and your husband can agree to. Don't let the issue be bigger than the relationship. Keep talking. Keep working. Step families are difficult. I know. I struggle with similiar issues every day. It will take years of love, patience, fairness, and unity (between you and your husband) to get through it intact as a family. Good luck and God bless.
