I wish there was a 'relieved' icon right now... because this has been one hell of a ride!
He's moving out next week, and his girlfriend is still in the picture... darn it all, she loves him, and maybe she'll treat him well... I sure hope so... but he seems not to want her. It's sad, because once you sleep with someone, it's kinda hard to get rid of them! I have no idea where this will ultimately go, but I love him enough to let him go with some form of dignity. I've been angry far too long.
I am doing great, really... considering... I was in an emotional cave for about three months, taking my Xanax and talking to my therapist... and over the weekend, I finally just decided to come out into the sunshine! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
I'm sure this is a part of the very long infidelity ride, but it's coming to an end, even if I feel sad about it one day, up about it the next.
My gorgeous David will always be a part of my life, one way or another. Yes, I'll miss him... but dammit, it's been WAY too hard of a ride. I think I'm ready to move forward...
Onward I go...
------------------
~Sheryl
Nobody knows what you want except you, and nobody will be as sorry as you if you don't get it. ~Barry Manilow
[This message has been edited by new_beginning (edited April 06, 2000).]

Sheryl,
I've been watching your story unfold since ultimo December, and I'm glad that you seem to have found some kind of peace now.
I've been expecting this to happen for a long time, but you have given it all the chances that anybody could ask for and then some, too bad it didn't work out, but ultimately I think that you have taken the road that leads to the happiest future for you.
I do wish you well on your journey towards uncharted territory, and hope you will find happiness and joy again, you deserve it.
Hope you'll enjoy the sunshine...

Hi Sadman,
Thank you for your wonderfully kind words... The thing I find most interesting about my situation, aside from the fact that it's *mine* [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com], is that I came to rebuild after my affair, and it's his affair that has killed us. It's really hard to hate the OW in my case too... she's really quite a nice woman, and she stupidly thought that when she gave her body to my H that it meant something... silly, silly woman! I feel for her, although yes, some days I'd love to sit her down and give her a speech that begins: "He's cheated on me four times, once with you, and here's what's gonna happen..." So see, I still harbor some bitterness myself. Still and all, I am content in my life, and look forward to the day when there is some final resolution.
I've been gone for awhile, and I'm frankly wondering why you're on the divorce side of the board... I thought things were going good for you... I hope I'm not wrong?? Please fill me in... if you don't come back, I'll go find out... I do care.

------------------
~Sheryl
Nobody knows what you want except you, and nobody will be as sorry as you if you don't get it. ~Barry Manilow

Sheryl,
Our marriage is going on fine, in fact better than ever. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
I strayed over here out of curiosity, and also to check up on some of the people, whose stories both my wife and I have been following, and who have been inspirational to us.
I saw your post and was glad to see your name again and with hope restored.
Take care, enjoy the springtime and bask in the sun, I'll bet you feel like 2000 tons have been lifted off your shoulders.
I hope the kids are doing fine as well, now the dust have settled [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
[This message has been edited by SadMan (edited April 07, 2000).]

Sheryl,
I am glad to hear you are doing ok. The anger and resentment can just eat us up! I hope that David realizes what a special woman you are and what he is giving up....
------------------
Susan

Hi Sheryl. I can't really "welcome" you here, because it is a hard place to be. But I've missed reading your posts and those of us on this board need positive hand-holding just like on the other boards.
You and I have been on similar, rocky paths, we're both betrayed & betrayers, but wanted our marriages to work so much...and have come to the conclusion, it isn't likely, so we've taken the initiative...after all the Plan A/B. Somedays it feels good, other days it feels like the failure it is. (I'm on a failure day).
Keep checking in.

------------------
Lor
"Let love be genuine...hold fast to what is good; love one another." Rom 12:9-10

Hey Sheryl:
Trust me that I know how you feel! I hope in time I will see the "sunshine" and want to bask in it. I'm not there yet. Still fighting this and resenting the heck out of it knowing full well I can't change anything except myself.
You really have tried so very hard.
Hugs,
Tanya
