Mitzi, thl and Honeywest:
I think you are right about the people here. It's not your typical internet site. Of course, for the people on the outside, they just don't understand. I do think the trip would be safe. If I can make it, I will be driving so I have some time to decide. It really sounds like fun.
thl: With my Username as 711, I can only imagine the image you have of me. You're probably picturing a person shaped like a big old convenience store. Maybe I should change my name to "Wonderwoman".
Honeywest:
I told my friend about this site because I find it so helpful and he is in the middle of his divorce. I am not too concerned about his reading my posts, because I am a very direct and honest person and he already knows pretty much everything that I post. Of course, if I run into a problem with him, I would then have a problem posting. So, it probably is better to keep this private from others.
Honey.west,
that is a tough dilemma you have because of the strict privacy clause, and total honesty. I think that at some point, in the Harley words, honesty is required, and I believe in sharing all information.
But that is me, and I understand your point of view of privacy. however, if this were 1980, you would not have theinternet, who would you talk to? friends or shrinks @$85 per hour. Friends still claim the prize, because you know them and trust their opinion.
And friends do let some things slip, or the word does get around. so i think we are advantaged over years ago, but that itself brings a different set of problems.
I can't help you since I don't share the pricacy clause as highly as you do. Although I think your only soltion to keep the status quo is to not come. Unless you can more trusting of your friend, there is no way around your personal beliefs without getting hung up somewhere.
that doesn't mean you can't, I just don't see anyway around your beliefs so that if anything went wrong, you wouldn't be happy since you violated them.
sorry, i can't help
thl

Gina:
I don't think being very open and honest is a bad thing. I am just like you on that account. I think sometimes I intimidate people with how direct I can be, but I can never be classifed as phony. And, people who are phony drive me nuts.
Jen

Gina, Jen, thl, well you all did help me - thank you!
I have been struggling over this, not because I am not honest with him, or don't trust him, we really do talk about all of my feelings and things...but I start to feel like I am gossiping, when I talk about him. I really hate that. So!
For me, I have to see this as different than a group behind closed doors, this is very open - I did try to get my ex to read this while we were separated, I even printed out things and sent them to him. Obviously didn't do much good. And I have recommended it to people I know going through a divorce.
I just won't talk about him anymore (even though he probably would love knowing I tell everyone how wonderful he is!). So that way I don't have to feel like I am talking about him behind his back - and accept that this is an open forum - making it personal, doesn't necessarily mean private, that I can discuss it with him, that I wouldn't be betraying anyone here either...
Sometimes it is very hard to see the right thing to do, this is a good place to find objective opinions. I do analyze things to death, which can be annoying. But better than those who just don't think about these things at all.

MUCH BETTER!
those that don't talk, and are just reactionary, really aren't very mature.
It is maturity that brings the acceptance of divergent views, and not have to fight over them.
great! hope you will be there!
thl

Gina,
Hi, sorry I have been out of the loop, but its a rough week for me. My weekend went great, hope yours did too.
I have a problem with being too honest and open. Sometimes I think I need to learn to be more private . Not here on the board, but in relationships. Sometimes, its not always to my advantage.
Honey, its a long time away, maybe you'll feel different in December. I am going and dont' know if I'll bring someone, I'd say chances are, I won't. Then he'd want to read what I post here, and I too would lose my annonymous safety that I have. For now, he doesn't know and I'll leave it at that.
The idea of a divorce seminar, thats a good idea, I'm going to use that one. Its either that, or a Sexual Addiction Seminar, which do you think will go over better with the family????
As far as the work thing, I think I read something about 90% of all affairs begin at work, so if people up to no good are doing it at work, on the copy machine, in the elevator, whatever, then 2 normal healthy single people can do what they please.
Me personally, it was fine til it ended. Then the elevator just never was the same ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/rolleyes.gif)
Hugs, Dana
