I thought sending my kids over to be around om, signing the divorce papers and getting divorced was the hardest things that I had ever done. Well today I just topped that.
OM is probably taking care of my sick son today. X is working her other job and can't/won't take off. I took off yesterday when he was sick and I can't/shouldn't take any more time off, at least this week.
When I told x son was ill yesterday, she said she was working 7-3 today and I could just drop s off at her house as om was going to be there. I prayed all night that s would be okay today to go to school, he wasn't. She called at 7:30 to inquire how he was and I told her he was sick and couldn't go to school. He has an ear infection and is congested, nothing real serious. HE is on meds.
She said just to drop him off at her house. I told her I was uncomfortable doing that. And we got into a long discussion, why she couldn't get off, why couldn't I just trust her/him, son would be ok, etc.
I knew I had to go to work so I accepted her plan to take him to her workplace and drop him off. She said if son didn't want to stay, om would come and get him and that she was going to try and get off at 11.
On my way back into town now, I went by her place and her car wasn't there so I am assuming she is still at work and om is watching my son.
I talked to my minister friend and he said that while I wasn't happy with the decision, it was probably the best. For one I can't afford to lose my job and second, x will probably marry om and om will be exposed to the kids alone.
I guess I should have taken a family leave day though. I still don't feel comfortable having a stranger raise my kids.
If this was the right decision, how come I fel so crappy???????????
Gotta run, I stopped home to get my coat, as fall is here in NE Ohio today.
Bob

I don't blame you for feeling this way. In fact, I will do what ever I have to do to ensure my children are never care for by a new boyfriend or hubby.

Of course, x didn't get off work early. S stayed with her and hour and then om picked him up. I called in the afternoon and no one was home so I called x and she said s and om went to get videos and something to eat.
X then decided to keep kids tonite after all. My s was happy but my d was p!$$ed ! This screwed up her plans. X told her she needs to learn to handle change better.
Omaha,
I said the same thing and worked like crazy trying to prohibit it. All I did was drive myself crazy. Once you are divorced there is no way you can stop it other than keeping your kids from seeing their mother.
I agree with you and I don't want someone else raising my kids but there is really nothing you can do about it IMO. What are you going to do if she marries someone else?
She is planning to take the kids for a week long vacation next summer and again there is nothing Ican do about it. Other than hope that om or her dumps the other and then what. Hope she finds someone better? I could never take her back, she has destroyed all faith and trust I have in her. So she would be forced to find something who is truly a stranger.
Other than giving up my life completely, never going anywhere without the kids, can I keep om away from my kids. But that is not possible either since x has visitation.
[This message has been edited by RWD (edited September 15, 2000).]
