Well, the decision on the editorial assistant position has been made. Not the one I wanted, however.
The man needs a secretary. While I can do rudiments of the job, I know I am not the best woman for the job. So, it's not going to be mine.
But, I know that I don't possess talent in that area and I don't want a job where I'll be that stressed out. So, it's ok. Besides, he might come back later and say he does need me.
I do have some reading materials he gave me and I thought I might drop by one day and return them with a letter thanking him for his time and interest and hinting that I believe a lot of the stuff he right about is accurate (that the actions and attitudes of people with chronic medical conditions is almost as important in the long-term outcome and the actions of the physician). And that if he wants to talk in the future about a position where my skills would be beneficial, I remain open to that.
So, Wednesday of this week, I have another interview - for a position in human resources department of this university. We'll see what comes of that.
I do think I'll wear the same clothes as before. I looked nice. And if I were to choose to wear a dress it would be either too casual or very classic from 12 years ago.
So, back to the black wool crepe slacks, red top, and black cardigan jacket.
Only I'll have to lose my red fingernail polish I have on today. Wonderful color, "I'm Not Really A Waitress"!
Life goes on. Wish me luck!

Good luck there, Princess :P
I think your idea of returning the books to him along with a "thank you" letter would be a good idea. He obviously liked you, it just wasn't the job for you.
Careers are a lot like men/women.....the right one is out there, you just have to find it!!!

Cinderella,
definately a thank you note to let him know
that you appreciated his time, and to have him keep you in mind if he knows of any other openings. (which does not rule out the current one if he can't find anyone)
the end result is networking for more eyes and ears that remember you and like you.
good luck,
WIFTTy
Well, at least there is still potential for a postion there in the future. I like the thank you note idea too.
Good luck with the interview on Wednesday.... and if you have to lose the Not really a Waitress, then use it on your toes! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif) That's my favorite color, and I'm gonna get my nail gal to paint my toes for me this week (since I can't reach them myself right now ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif) ).
I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you on Wednesday.... Knock em dead!!

I survived. No major problems. No decision. They hope to make one by the end of next week. We'll see. I really don't have a sense of how it went.
