Ok, I've had a "theam song".... I admit it.
It was "Cross My Heart by George" Strait (from our wedding).... I cross my heart and promise to, do all I can to make all your dreams come true....
Then I moved on to "Truly, Madly, Deaply" by Savage Garden...
"My Heart Will Go On" by Celin Deon came next (when we separated for the first time)...
Then I went back to "Cross My Heart" when we reconsiled and were working on us...
"Broken Promises" came all too soon after that.... because that is what he had done...
Next came the Dixie Chicks "I Can Love You Better Than That"...
Add in a whole bunch of the I don't believe this is happening type songs...
Went back to the Dixie Chicks again with "Wide Open Spaces" and Reba ... "R-E-S-P-E-C-T"...
Well, today I found I had adopted a new theam song...
"No matter how hard I try
You keep pushing me aside
And I can't break through
There's no talking to you
It's so sad that your're levin'
it takes time to believe it
But after all is said and done
You're gonna be the lonley one
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don't think you're strong enough now
Do you believe in love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don't think you're strong enough now
What am I suposed to do
Sit around and wait for you?
Well I can't do that
And there's no turnin' back
I need time to move on
I need love to feel strong
'Cos I've had time to think it through
'N' maybe I'm too good for you
Do you believe in life after love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don't think you're strong enough now
Do you believe in love?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don't think you're strong enough now
Well I know that I'll get through this
'Cos I know that I AM STRONG
I don't need you anymore
I don't need you anymore
No I don't need you anymore
I don't need you anymore...
Cher.... Believe

Well, this has made me sad, but strong and empowered.... the time has come to take charge of my life again.... to move on... to let go... to discover ME again.
I've never "picked" my theam song... it just appears in my head....
I don't know if my heart is ready for this yet, but it seems my head is.....
Which one do I follow???????

------------------
My favorite quote....
"Hello, this is God. I will be handeling your problems today. I will not need your help, so sit back and have a good day."
Butterfly....do you not love this CD? For me it gives an inner strength to deal with a lot of things and I can't explain it except that the songs touch about all the emotions we go through in dealing with A's. "All or nothing" is another uplift for me.

Butterfly -- I just love that song. Are you feeling stronger? I can tell I'm getting stronger every day. I have slept all night the last two nights. A first since all this came to a head a little over a year ago.
Finally ventured out to the pool and met a lady going through similar thing I am. Her situation was a lot worse, though. Made me feel better about my situation.
Take care.

Butterfly,
You and I are on the same page with this one. When I first heard that Cher song it irritated me (not because of the words, but because of the computer echo sound it has), but as I sitting one day at work feeling very down about all of this and that song came on I truely listened to all of the words and immediately started crying. It is so fitting for our lives right now.....
If you've already made your decision in your head and believe it and stick to it your heart will follow eventually. At least that's the path I'm trying to take. I'm going through the divorce process and my heart hates it, but my head is looking at it realistically and knows it is what is going to happen. Everyday is a battle, but we must take one day at a time and hope that peace will eventually follow.
Good luck to you and I'll be thinking about you when I hear that song and hoping for the best for you.
T2W
------------------
"In marriage you can be your spouse's greatest source of pleasure,
but you can also be your spouse's greatest source of pain."
- Dr. Harley

Butterfly
I bought that cd during the most intense part of H's affair. I used to go drive around the country playing the entire cd over and over. I'm not sure I would have had the strength I did without it. The songs "strong Enough" and "It's all or nothing" were two other favorites.
Use this to your advantage my friend. use it to build a positive, strong attitude.
(I'm into Guns n Roses and AC/DC right now. Helps my anger)

jendan-
Paula Cole sings your cowboy song.
My theme song is "Looks like we made it" by Shania Twain...
"looks like we made it
look how far we've come my baby
we might've took the long way
we knew we'd get there someday
they said, "I'll bet they'll never make it"
but just look at what's going on
we're still together, still going strong"
Not so much because I feel that things are perfect now (because they are not), but because there was a time when I didn't even want to be in this marriage anymore. And now, I know in my heart my life isn't complete without H.
Hoping that there is power in positive thinking--tamis
-tamis

Thanks for the replys everyone... I bought the whole CD for that song too, and I'm glad I did.... it is really good.
Right now I'm an emotional basket case, my H was just here in my office. (Had some insurance papers for me to sign). I was feeling so strong last night, so sure, but now.....
I haven't cried in over 2 weeks, but it looks like I'm gonna make up for it now.
Anyhoo.... "Where have all the cowboys gone" is a good one.....There are so many songs that fit this crappy situation...... that in itself is sad.
I need to go get myself together......
Thoughs & prayers for everyone,
B
------------------
My favorite quote....
"Hello, this is God. "In all the world, you'll never find.... a love as true as mine" (G. Strait, Cross My Heart)...
Well, that song was just on the radio, and I'm balling like a baby again...........
That was part of our marriage vows.
B
------------------
My favorite quote....
"Hello, this is God. Here's my song. I play it over and over when I'm feeling really down.
After all was said and done
there was nothing left to do
The hardest mile I ever walked was the one I walked away from you.
So maybe I'm a little ragged around the edges
and I've been keeping a little more to my self these days but
I'm all right , shot down but I'm still standing,
(chorus)I'm all right . A little banged up from the fall. I'm all right still shakey from the landing but I'm all right after all.
You know it's really not that bad no matter how bad it might feel, cause there aint nothing time won't fix, this aint nothing that some time won't heal.
So maybe I've been walking a little wounded. I move a little bit slower now but that's ok because (chorus)And every now and then I think about you , every now and then I cross the line(chorus) I'm all right after all.
( from Terri Clark's CD How I feel)

I find myself listening to "oldies" and I'm not even sure who sung them:
Like "The way we were" (Barbara Stristand)
and I'm not sure of the title, but it goes: "It used to be so easy living here with you. You were light and breezy and I knew just what to do. Now you seem so unhappy and I feel like a fool....It's too late"
Shows where my state of mind is.....
