My Dearest Wife:
I know that you will never read this, but I needed to write it out anyway.
I feel so hurt and so betrayed by what you have done to our marriage that I can hardly think. When we were dating, you said to me, "If you will only be with me, you will not be able to imagine the beautiful life we will have together." Well, I believed you, I trusted you and then you left us, you killed our marriage. Is this the beautiful life you were talking about? I will grant you one thing, I certainly could not have imagined it.
We could have had that beautiful life, but you stopped being able to imagine, you stopped being able to love and your heart shriveled up into a dry husk. That life lies cold as the ground. :
I am left here alone to try to put back the pieces of my life and to move on. You have given me no choice but to move on...you are long gone. God, I did not realize just how married I had become. I had become 1/2 of what we were, and when you took off, I found that my right arm was gone; Half of my heart ripped away with about as much care as one would tear a subscription card out of a magazine. I do not even know who I am anymore and I struggle to rebuild an identity for myself.
I guess this all sounds so dramatic, but I find myself slowly sinking into a depression that I fear will swallow me whole. What we have lost is incalculable. What price a life together? I guess you figured out what it was worth to you.
vb_guy

vb guy,
I know you are hurting so deeply right now. Your wife gave up too easily on your marriage. However, I want to ask you to take some time and hold off on sending the letter. I think you should wait at least one more month before sending it.
Think of it this way. You will probably only send her this one time. Make sure the things you want to say, are what you really want to say and not just a spur of the moment, emotional letter. Although spur of the moment, venting letters do help us, even if we don't send them.
You need to get your feelings out too. I think this is very important. So while you are holding onto the letter, think about going back and adding things you feel from day to day. I think also you should add some things you really miss about her. Like the things you told me she did that were so cute.
I'll email you later on today. I have to get busy and do my list of 5 things for today!
BTW, I took my two mile walk this morning and wondered if you were walking at the same time in New York! It was the most gorgeous morning. It feels like spring here. I was still able to go in shorts and tshirt. Lots of people out on bikes and in skates. FANTASTIC! I feel great! A complete turn around from yesterday. I bounce back quickly dude!
Take care,
ANNA

First time on this site.. I UNDERSTAND!!!!My wife left me after 7 years of marriage and two kids. NEVER cheated, deprived her of anything materialistic and did the best I could do emotionally . I am a former owner of a brokerage house and the past few years have been tough. Just when you think you have seen the abyss, you realize that the most important aspect of life is family. I love my children and wife, but you can only bring the horse to water, cant ....lfe must go on.

I want to thank everyone for their replies.
This situation stinks and I wonder when the pain will be a distant memory. I gues it will always be with me to some degree.
I can see that I am NOT alone, especially with some of my IM buddies hangin' around. I do not even know why I love her at this point, she is not acting loveable towards me.
Oh, well, this too shall pass, I hope.
Thanks, again, all vb_guy
