It normal to cry during sex? I'm only asking this because for some really odd reason a couple of days ago, I was crying. I don't understand. I wasn't sad and I wasn't in pain. Could someone please explain this to me (and don't tell anybody I'm here either [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com])? Thanks.
------------------
http://www.geocities.com/zbucketmouse is where my page is. Check it out!:)

Yuki Miaka,
I have had a few occasions where I was overwhelmed with emotions, enough to cry during sex. They were good cries, they felt okay to do, but I felt a little weird at first. But, as I have gotten older, I tend to cry more while laughing, as well. Maybe it is just our emotions overflowing when that happens. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

It sounds to me a little like maybe crying at a movie that's not sad. Or when someone does something thoughtful and you're moved by it.
I haven't ever cried during sex, but I think that it doesn't sound all that odd. Certainly not a stupid or embarrassing question to ask, and I admire you for asking it.
If you and your mate are otherwise pleased, then I think it sounds perfectly A-OK!
God Bless

Oh, one more thing. . .I noticed something in Raskal's reply about crying while laughing.
I laugh a lot as it is, and when something's really hilarious, especially if whatever's funny also happens to be attached to something special, cute, or heartwarming then tears and maybe even the "knot in the throat" feeling aren't particularly unusual to follow.
It sounds like you must really, really, really feel good. I think that sounds so very grand!!

Raskal:
I think that's what it is. But the thing is that I've NEVER done that before! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
ilmf:
This is going to sound weird, but the only other time I "tear up" is when I'm laughing. It's weird because I go into these laugh fits where I'm crying! I don't know what's wrong with me! Tama thinks it's funny to see me like that! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
OK, about that last comment............I guess so! Miaka:
I've been following your story. I just mostly lurk now, but reply when I get that overwhelming need to! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Anyways, I cry all the time during sex. My poor H thinks I'm whacko. Especially after the discovery and ending of his A when I felt comfortable to be with him again. The emotions were just so overwhelming I'd start to cry! They've always been good cry's though. And now they still happen, just not as much.
Getting to your story though. Do you think this happened because you two finally felt like you were living your lives just together because your in-laws were on vacation?
You might have been so overwhelmed with the feelings of really being with just him and not his whole family. And, that's what it's supposed to be like! Maybe there's just too much inhibition during the other times because, #1 you've got that "wonderful" mother in-law stuck in your head, #2 because you two weren't really ever ALONE when intimately together.
Just my 2 cents. Hope I didn't offend, but knowing your story, that's the first thing that came to mind. In-laws on vacation and you guys really living life as reality!
Good luck with everything! purplemag:
You know, I think you and me were thinking the same thing.....I wondered about that too. I wasn't sad or hurting, I was actually happy. I certainly felt like we were FINALLY by ourselves! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] And you're right about all the other times, we're never alone, someone's ALWAYS listening unless there's nobody in the house (hardly ever). You didn't offend me, I think it's a perfect valid opinion and I think the same thing too! A comment on my comment that you commented on. . . I think. . .
When I said "feel really, really good" (if that's what you had cued on) I meant in all regards. Emotionally, spiritually, physically. (For whatever this clarification is worth)
Looks like there must have been something in another thread I haven't seen. I didn't catch the part about in-laws.
Well, still. . . from what I can gather (granted I am no expert at these kinds of things) it just sounds to me like you are just fine.
Smile!

I'm glad I'm not nuts! So, you're sure this is normal? I don't wanna seem like an oddball because even Tama was looking at me funny asking me if I was alright! One more for the record.
Yes I have cried during lovemaking. It seems to be connected to a really intense emotional bonding that I feel at those times.
I think it's also related to hormonal fluctuations and when it's really satisfying sex it's an enormous tension reliever, too.
I think it's great for your mental - emotional well being to laugh and cry and sing (!) [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] before, during and after making love with great energy and enjoyment.
That should be a time when there's no inhibitions about expressing yourself at all.
