c++_guy -

Thank you thank you thank you for the prayers.

THEY ARE WORKING! I'm sure of it.

I wanted to run this by you to ponder in your logical mind.

We have a cement statue of Mary in our garden that Ex had bought years ago - I always thought those cement statues were kind of tacky, but have grown to like it.

Anyway, the statue is in front of some Hydrangeas that I planted because they reminded me of my Ex. Now the flowers bloomed and died out months ago, but since we got back from vacation a single bloom bloomed risght next to Mary's head - and it's not an ordinary bloom - it's actually some leaves that are the color of the flower - which is pink.

Now I've got so many things going on that I said look how nice a pink bloom by Mary's head. Then I looked at all the other dead flowers and then today I really looked at it and as I said before - it's the leaves that just changed color.

I told my boys it was a miracle - well it's a miracle to me, and it helps them know in a physical way that Mary is looking out for us.

Today when Ex came by to pick up kids, they showed him the "miracle." I wonder what he thought.

This follows my request that I receive a Mary statue for Christmas, which I neve rtold anyone about - and low and behold - I get a statue of Mary for Christmas - and who gives or gets a statue of Mary for Christmas?!?!?

Anyway, I don't really need signs because there is nothing more special than actually having GOD Himself inside you when we have communion - something Ex cannot experience now that he's married - but it's neat when things like this happen.

And I guess maybe I need a sign or two based on how I feel today.

Hope you are haning in there, and if you're doing ok, just respond. "yes" (Hope that's not too many words for you. Sorry to pick on you - I think I already responded to you at one time saying that women like guys who listen to them - I mean what woman wants a guy who is always trying to talk over her?!?!??! )

Stay the great person that you are!

Thanks for the reply.

Just, please don't pop a blood vessel over all this serious thinking.

Take your time - it's mostly just food for thought.

Ok, here is my take on the statue of Mary and the bloom:

Being who I am, my first approach to the world can be summed up thusly;

Isaac Newton is my god and Richard Feynman is his high-priest.
There is nothing in the world or creation, save for that which I can see or otherwise measure, either with my senses directly or with some more sensitive instrument.
Logic and mathematics are the only true ways to think about and measure anything. The right view of the world is a scientific one and in science there are but two things: Physics and stamp collecting.

Ahem.

Now,...Isaac Newton was only a man, a very flawed man. Richard Feynman, while one of the greatest minds ever produced, was still only a man. Less screwed up than Newton, but he had his issues to say the least.
Feynman was also a proponent of Quantum Mechanics (my personal favorite branch of physics, btw) and Quantum Physics is full of weird irregularities and seeming contradictions. Many an atheist physicist has become a better Christian, Jew, Hindu for having studied quantum mechanics deeply.
My logical brain recoils at such things as miracles and even God. Lucky for me, I am more than my brain alone.
My logical mind rests in a deeper pool of being; a being which I believe is God. The more I learn of science, the more I am convinced that there is a God...it is all too perfect for there not to be a God.
I was raised a strict Roman Catholic and I know that when I enter a church, especially Notre Dame in Montreal, Canada, that I am in the presence of God.
My mother and her sisters spoke to "The Blessed Mother" as if she were in the room with them..."Don't worry, Irene, I will talk to the Blessed Mother today and we will have an answer to your problem." was not an uncommon phrase in my home growing up.
I get peace and solace praying The Memorare...I KNOW that Mary hears me then.
You are a blessed woman yourself, K.
So, using more words than I ever thought I might, I believe that Mary really is showing you her love for you, through the power of her Son, Jesus Christ.
Did I answer the original question? I hope so.

God Bless You,
c++_guy

Good answer.

I definitely believe that while miracles do happen, they are not instantaneous events that happpen with a "poof", but rather happen within the laws of physics, because that's how God created this world, and He works through His creation.

And if you really want some scientific proof about God, you need to read the LATEST research on the shroud. Too scientific for my brain, but it may interest yours.

May the Lord Bless and Keep You, May His Face Shine upon you and give you peace. K
