It is called "Family Portrait" and sung by the band called "Pink" unbeleiveable..

I am sep/divorced for four yrs, and an old timer here.. I mainly lurk now and then, but had to let every one know about this song.. this is a very emotional song, about a daughter pleaing to her dad to try and keep the family together.. (of course the song made the mom the coprit, and dad won`t forgive her).. in my case it was the dad who was the WH.. BUT, my daughter is the one who introduced me to the song, and told me she made my ex listen to this song, and then she told me to listen.. I did not re-act, I just listened, and did not ask if her dad re-acted either.. but what a song.. unbeleiveable..

well thats it.. enjoy..

I just downloaded it off of GroKster file-sharing. Kool, I loved it. Lot of wisdom in that song.
Thanks for sharing.

sinead is gay. She left her H for another woman...

I prefer the song, "Thunder Rolls" because it was written for a couple who were victims of infidelity by a singer who was himself cheatin' on his own wife..

Actually I listened to that song. Pink can really get down and to the gritty parts. Her other song, "Just like a Pill" reminds me of Austin..."Stead of makin' me better, keeps makin me ill. "

Country is not my particular music of choice but I have been torturing myself w/ sad country songs since meeting w/ the lawyer this week.

"Angry All the Time" - Tim McGraw sums up my end all too well. Really drives the knife in deep.

Any other day it might be "Feel Like Sh**.. Deja Vu" - Suicidal Tendencies. (BTW their songs are not pro-suicidal just for anyone that hasn't heard of them.)

Country songs are almost always looking back and bummed out. I'd get suicidal listening to that if I were going through divorce right now!!

Family Portrait
Written by Pink & S. Storch

Mama please stop cryin'
I can't stand the sound
Your pain is painful and it's
Tearing me down

I hear glasses breaking
As I sit up in my bed
I told God you didn't mean
Those nasty things you said
You fight about money
About me and my brother
And this I come home to
This is my shelter

It ain't easy, growin' up in WW3
Never knowin' what love could be
You'll see, I don't want love to destroy me
Like it has done my family

Can we work it out
Can we be a family
I promise I'll be better
Mommy I'll do anything
Can we work it out
Can we be a family
I promise I'll be better
Daddy please don't leave

Daddy please stop yelling
I can't stand the sound
Make mama stop cryin'
'Cause I need you around
My mama she loves you
No matter what she says is true
I know that she hurts you
But remember I love you too!

I ran away today, ran from the noise
Ran away (ran away)
Don't wanna go back to that place
But don't have no choice, no way

It ain't easy, growin' up in WW3
Never knowin' what love could be
But I've seen, I don't want love to destroy me
Like it has done my family

In our family portrait
We look pretty happy
Let's play pretend, let's act like it
Comes naturally
I don't wanna have to split the holidays I don't want two addresses
I don't want a stepbrother anyway
And I don't want my mom to have to change her last name!

Mama'll be nicer
I'll be so much better
I'll tell my brother
I won't spill the milk at dinner
I'll be so much better
I'll do everything right
I'll be your little girl forever
I'll go to sleep at night

Daddy don't leave... daddy don't leave

I remember now a song I listened to a lot when I was going thru Divorce Recovery (on my own) - it's called, "After The Love Is Gone, It's Raining Again". I think it was done by a group called Brothers Of Peace feat. Soulystics. Never played in the states, though, it's a Euro Club song, only played overseas. I got deep into the Euro-Trance and Club scenes when I was stationed in Germany back in '92 and again in '94 when I went back there for another 3 year tour.
However, I have always been a firm believer in a phrase in a song by the O'Jays, "...music is the healing force of the world." God places music in our lives as well as other people to help us in life.
Just a few random thoughts on songs...
