Long story short is we were divorced 8/15. I have to refinance the house by 11/15 to get his name off loan, etc. He keeps getting on IM and asking me about it - then making smart a$$ comments about how he gave me everything (everything but honesty and fidelity - I want to say).

I wrote him an email. Told him my closing date. Told him I will correspond with his attorney. To leave me along and get on with his life. Quoted a few things from our divorce decree (that he wrote up) regarding not annoying, trouble, harass, etc. the other party, etc.

I was going to change my AOL name, but I've had it for years and why should I hide? So I blocked his several alias names so he can't reach me there, etc.

He did respond to my email - made some ridiculous immature statement like "then stay off AOL, I'll be glad to leave you alone" "this is why I left you!" Etc. etc. Blah Blah Blah.

Hello? Isn't he the one who is supposed to be SO HAPPY now? Free from his marriage and wife?

If he does start more trouble - I'm not going to take it. Does a restraining order protect from online contact? And what if I don't know where he lives?

Input welcome.
Thanks.

llama -

I just don't know what it is with these guys.

Trying myself to get the house taken care of, but it's difficult when you are dealing with and emotional 2 year old.

It's all about control - and they are hurting and think that by hurting us they will feel better.

Continue to block the address - that's what I did. And then I allowed him to leave messages on my answering machine - but now he keeps calling. Oh, and I do let him fax, and he uses that but still says it's juvenile.

I can't be nice to him anymore. He says what he's done is in the past - bit it's not. And he wants me to take the generous offer he has given me and I tell him that it's really a piece of cr*p.(He doesn't like that) But at this point who cares - they will continue to bring you down if you let them. So try not to let them. And probably you can get a judge to order anything if needed.

Sorry that you are going through this too.

Thanks GIIC -

Here's my question - would a restraining order help in with online harassment? And, I don't know where he lives anymore.

Thanks,
Llama
