My kids are the greatest thing on earth!!!!!
My eight year old daughter and her best friend collected money Sat. for the homeless. I told them I would take them to the store and we could buy some things for the people at one of the homeless shelters.
Today after church we went shopping and had the greatest time buying stuff. They bought toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, gloves, 6 religious poems/scriptures (footprints poem was one of them) that were framed. I took them to the shelter and the owner took us for a tour of the place and took us to the chapel where they have worship every morning.
Needless to say the girls had smiles on their faces from ear to ear. I told them 15 to 20 times how proud I was and God was of them and that helping others was what what being a christian was all about.
On another note.....My daughter has been telling people she is moving back with me. We talked about it and she really does want to at times because she just doesn't like the idea of her mother getting married and she wants our family back so bad.
My 13 year old and I were talking today about a few things and I asked him what would be the most awesome thing that could happen to him right now. He said "For you and mom to get back together". I asked him what he would do if his mom told him we were going to try and work things out. He said " I would jump up and down and run around".
The reason this is so good is he hasn't really shown any emotion and I really didn't know how he felt. I knew he loved our family but I felt he was mad at me so he didn't say anything about it because I had hurt his mom. I think finally he has seen and believes the change in me and is starting to trust me when I say I will never hurt his mom again.
Now if I can get their mom to see me for what I really am now.

What a lovely post! We sure all need days like that. I'm happy for you. Will keep remembering you and your children and wife in my prayers. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />
