After almost 10 years of marriage, my wife and I will in all probability get a divorce. We have 2 daughters ages 7 and 4. Having been through a divorce at 9, I know how devastating it can be to a small child. Any suggestions? Please! I want to minimize my daughters pain and help them through the transition so they can grow up to be healthy adults. Any thoughts would be greatly appriciated.

O I forgot, there is a possibility that I will have full custody. Don't know if that makes a difference

Get two copies of the books, Mom's House/Dad's House, and How to Help Children Cope with Divorce the Sandcastles Way, and give a copy to your spouse.
Read the books before you tell this children to help form the words and to help the children.
Check out www.rainbows.org for peer support counseling for the children (in the future).
Determine whether they need counseling, either individual or family to help deal with the situation.
Good Luck.
