Just a quick note to wish all my MB friends a happy and stress-free 4th of July.
I'm doing great. Things are much easier lately, my life is simple and free. The idea that I realize this and appreciate it says volumes about my progress.
I'm riding again and training for Dressage - Cross Country event, met a personal trainer to help me. Work is great, being moved to the Centrino procs stuff which is very exciting for me. I'm blessed!
Lots of love, Jo
p.s. And no, I haven't met anyone, but not for lack of being asked out or friends trying to set me up. I don't want to date yet, I want to be on my own for a while. First time in my life too. [ July 04, 2003, 03:01 PM: Message edited by: Resilient ]

Sounds great Resilient....you have made so much progress.
My oldest daughter is going to college to study equine science and business. She said she is taking all dressage next year.
She just sold one of her horses...she has been busy working this summer--trying to make enough money to go to school, maintain her horse and buy a trailor.
She and my second oldest leave for Europe tomorrow to play soccer over there. I would give my eye teeth to be going too.
Have a great Forth...we will have to exchange horse pictures.....Take care Pat

Hi Pat,
Thanks for responding. I'm on my way out the door to a 4th BBQ, but wanted to let you know that things DO get easier, I promise.
I still have bad mornings every once in a while ... caused by bad dreams, and some nights I get low & sad, but all and all, I can't ask for more. I'm healthy, I have a good job that I love and I even get to ride, and friends that watch out for me, and then there's MB too, who could ask for more.
My feelings about my ex-H are still laced with anger towards him and his deeds, but they're not as sharp and intense.
I'm not at the place where I have seen some MBer's wishing their Ex's well. I'm just not there yet. My preference would be to forget he ever existed in my life if I could .... he robbed me blind from having a family, making babies with OW(s) and he tainted my body with std's resulting in cancer, then left me to fend for myself. It's a lot to let go of, but I'm up for it and continue to be a work in progress.
Be well Pat .. I know you deal with similar feelings. I hate to think anyone else has had to endure such abuse. It just isn't right or the way one human treats another, esp one that made a promise to cherish and love.
Much love, Jo [ July 04, 2003, 05:34 PM: Message edited by: Resilient ]

Dressage, high Jumping, my daughter tried dressage for awhile, but loves the jumping more. To be with the activities of the horse people. Everyone is so active, taking care of their horses, maintaining the stalls, H20, feed, cleaning tack, shoeing, etc. No time to relax until the end of the day, after the last feeding. You should be in great shape, thighs tight, and arms strong as well as your legs. Working with horses is wonderful for the whole body. I will go out to the barn just to talk to the horses, and bellow out my pain, and hurtfulness.
Going to the movies is good too. Wish my frined was better, that my kids and I could go to her cottage, she lives on the lake. But she is ill at this time, and so SNL took the kids out to eat and to the movies. I stayed home, cause I can't sit in the theatre without spasming. Took the dogs (3) and the bird, and we walked out to the pond. The 2 dogs swam and I took and threw a stick out in the middle for them to retrieve. WAs fun watching the 2 dogs fight over the stick in the water, and both got an end and swam to shore. The other dog, stood in the water, he is old and enjoyed the coolness. The bird, heard the wild birds sing, and it was enjoyable.
Seems, we are all doing pretty good. Yes, there will be many ups and downs. But all in all, we all are finding something to be happy about.

It is great talking to all of you....amazing how far we have all come.
I just got home from watching all the fireworks displays....have to admit, the fourth is always a little sad for me. It used to be such a big family affair. Too many memories.
We went to the base to see the fireworks--they were gorgeous. Then we went to my friend's house and set off some beautiful ones. Almost had a heartattack when my youngest didn't know how to hold his fountain---and held the burning end facing his chest. I was watching--and it was like in slow motion--ahhhhh......anyway, he is ok.
Tomorrow I head up to the city to drop the girls off at the airport. I am so envious--I want to go to Europe too
Oh well..I talked to my mother tonight...and she sounds like she is really failing. She has been so down since her sister died a few weeks ago. Hard to imagine my mom being so weak and frail. I think I am going to have to drive to Albuquerque with my little kids in the next few weeks. It is such a long trip...wish I could afford to fly.
You all sound so together....I am happy for all of you. I still hate that we have had to endure this nightmare. Best wishes always...Pat
