Should I be concerned here?
X always looked up to this older employee he hired part-time - but this guy never impressed me.
He's outwardly gay, and was living in the gay mecca of our area - which is a large place.

Now, the girls came home last night to tell me K is sharing the marital house with dad. K has two of the 4 bedrooms. HMMMMM!

I know X is dysfunctional but HMMMM! Should I go have an AIDS test? Last October was when XFIL was caught with a hooker, and I was concerned about the family, but now!

So I looked up NPD traits again, and he's so there. I've always thought that gay men were narcissistic, but maybe I hadn't thought enough down this road.

I'm surprisingly calm about this because I believe there is nothing I can do in the courts regarding his "roommates". I only hope he doesnt' expose the girls to inappropriate behavior.

My life could be on Jerry Springer (however, I've realized it all revolves around X's and not my behaviors).

Another Day, another trauma.

Relax...

Don't go off half cocked... as my grandpa always used to say. Perhaps he is just truly 'rooming' with this man. I don't know, but it sounds as if you are really running far afield with this at this juncture without knowing much about the real situation. We all have a tendency to be able to think the worst in times like these. But to react or overreact might just hurt you in the future.

I can understand your trepidation about AIDS... I was worried about it when I found out about my ex, and at least she is straight. But, take some time and see how things progress. Try to take a breath and understand what is really going on. You are your own worst enemy right now worrying about things that you don't understand and stressing yourself out.

Your concerns might be completely founded. However, make sure before you stress yourself to death. Perhaps he is doing this just to mess with you. It sure would be a 'good one' to do, innocently helping a friend while 'goading' your ex at the same time.

I am surprisingly uninterested in what goes on in his life, but I wanted to put this out to see if others had any concerns.
I'm certain there's nothing I can do about it.
I don't trust my X with my children, now do I trust his judgement. But this is even odder than I thought he'd act.

So if anyone has some wisdom to offer, please let me know. At this point, I have no action to take, nor do I plan to take any.

I'm more concerned with the rest of the details of the "roommate". Does he drink or abuse drugs? Does he use foul language around the children or watch pornography while they're there? There are many other issues I'd be more concerned about than whether he's in a gay relationship with your husband. A heterosexual roommate poses the same types of issues, and would probably be more likely to have overnight girlfriends while the children are there. Homosexuals do know that society generally frowns on their activities and unless he's a complete moron, this roommate should have the sense to not expose children to his sexuality.

It could be nothing. At least the gentleman has two rooms. If he were sharing a room, then I'd question it.

Do go get checked for all the STDs. It will put your mind at rest. I doubt X has engaged in "at risk" behaviors, but you never know.

Hang in there.

I believe as in medicine too, that if there's any chance of obtaining an STD whether through hetero or homosexual activities of your x, t hen by all means get checked out. I did.

And I agree, he may just be a roommate. My only concern is if this man has a negative influence when the kids are around as he's not a member of x's family...and not being prejudiced to his being gay, but if he's promiscuous or living a destructive lifestyle that's in open and clear view of your kids that's something to be concerned about. And that goes for somebody gay or straight imho.

Just get the facts and listen to the kids and be wise here. Hopefully, your x just needs some money and is renting rooms to somebody he thinks is an ok person. Hopefully....Prayers with you guys.

I'd be just as concerned and cautious as you btw.
