I heard that there is something significant about 10 yr old marriages in California having to do with alimony, etc.

Anyone know if this is true? And if so, what is significant about that in a divorce?

Blind Sided, I, too, have heard that alimony is a much more serious issue after 10 years than before, but I don't know what the law on this is.

I have a deposition with my H this Thursday re: the date of separation, which is significant for several reasons, including his apparent plans to request alimony from me.

I'd also be interested in the answer to your question. If no one has answered by Thursday, I'll ask my lawyer...
