- You can do it in public
- You don't need a partner to do a really good job
- Lots of people will admire your skill
- People always want to touch what you are working on
- You can keep a closet full of supplies
- You can do it anytime you desire - anywhere you desire
- People will always think you are so smart when they see you do it
- It's really trendy
- Depending on what you do, it can keep you warm for a long time
- If you are really good, you can enter your project in a competition and win awards
Can you think of any more...

Knitting comes in many different styles, intricate, plain, colorful, plain.
Knitting doesn't require foreplay. Pick up the needles and go for it.

Ok, here goes: KNITTING FOR GUYS!!
you can do it silently
you can watch the game on TV at the same time
if your stitches are too loose, or too tight, you can undo and try again
does not require any concentration
do not have to be a gymnast for complicated patterns
knitting is not a health risk
a knitting pattern comes with a complete set of instructions
wool for a scarf is cheaper than dinner and a movie
If you like, you could knit every DAY! (or all day) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
if it's a bad jersey, you don't lose half your house and pension

Did you see the article in Time or Newsweek not to long ago? It said the blue-haired knitters were often college students.
What a cool thing that high-school or college students and little old ladies can share a hobby and learn for each other.
They even showed a photo of a book I bought for myself a few weeks ago - before I learned that I had resumed a former past-time that is now trendy. Just think, I was cool and trendy and didn't even know it.

You can do it while your children are around and their friends will think it is cool, too.

If you do it for someone who lives a long way away, then they can have a bit of you with them whenever they wish. Now if only the Diplomat would use a handknit scarf.

Imagine doing it on a plane in first class. Those executives are on their laptops, redoing what was done, and here you are calmly listening to your classical stations, and knitting and BEING SO CALM!!!!
Knitting has shown to reduce the anger, and when the finished product is done, a masterpiece.

The only time I ever flew first class was a one-way flight from Sydney, Australia through Honolulu and on to San Francisco. I had a broken arm and not much in the way of pain killers. I tried to drink my way home because the thing hurt. I couldn't have knitted if I had wanted to. I did have my tatting with me but you can't tat much of anything with only one hand. It's as two handed as knitting. I don't remember reading. I just remember wanting another drink. Now, I don't drink much but I decided screwdrivers might be better than aspirin with codeine in them. They didn't work very well.
Anyway, you can create a really cool scarf out of good thread for about $15 or less. If you had to pay for sex, you couldn't get much for that price.

There is an elementary school in my city that teaches all the children knitting in one grade, embroidery the next grade, and in the next grade, they do an independent project using one or both skills.
