I have read about anti depressants for women but my husband was on zoloft and caused him problems with urinating so he stopped and hasnt tried anything else. Hi, sorry to hear about your H's problem. I have tried both Serzone and Celexa but both had side effects, especially lowering sexual desire and ability to climax. I am using Wellbutrin S/R now, and it is great. It has been shown to even improves sexual desire somewhat, especially in women with low sexual desire. S/R stand for sustained release. Regular Wellbutrin is off patent now so it will probably be cheaper.

Female here. But I take Effexor XR. Its fairly new & recommended for someone who's not taken antidepressants long term before. It did not make me jittery or sleepy or sick. Libido has always been low, don't think thats worsened at all. You have to be weaned onto it and weaned off slowly. I started on a very small dosage & it was gradually increased every month until I am at the right milligram amount for me (from 35 mg to 225 mg now).

I currently use Effexor XR. Was on Zoloft. Decrease in sexual desire not apparent in either. I did have a decrease at the beginning of my depression but lately my labido has be through the roof. I honestly would not mind a decreased libido at this point. When is the last time a woman has complained because her husband took too long?? [img]images/icons/wink.gif" border="0[/img]

I took welbutrin for a while. Made me kind of sick feeling. I'm not sure now if I even need the drugs at all. I just want to be happy with who I am and get through this without the need for a pill. Is that crazy talk?

My H takes effexor but it has definitely led to a decreased sex drive. He was told it wasn't as bad for that as other meds but it sure does affect him. Sometimes he won't take it on the weekend because of that.
