I have been separated for 5 months and the divorce went through 2 months ago. I was married for 22 years since im 18 years old. We rushed into divorce right away. i know i made a bad decision, but we were both tired. we never had communication skills to talk it out. we are now talking and decided to take it slow and work on a new realtionship. i am so scared that i will do and accept anything to get him back. need help.

Hard to reply with no background. I will say be careful. You divorced after 22 years of marriage. So there had to be some big problems. Are you rushing into reconciliation the way you "rushed into divorce" just because you're lonely?

Read the concepts on the site to understand what you really want. The tools here will help you learn what you want and need from a M, how you can get it, and how you can be a good partner.
There's a wealth of information here. Take time now to heal yourself and to become the best person you can be.

I think you are on the right track, since you have come to some realizations:

"we never had communication skills to talk it out."

You realize that a lack of communication skills was a problem before

"we are now talking"

You are taking steps to solve that problem.
Make sure you also learn and apply some specific communication skills and that there is an agreement that these new skills will continue if you remarry (not just used for courting).

"and decided to take it slow"

This is a very good idea.
Make sure each of you clarify what you want and need. Have you read about the POJA?

"and work on a new realtionship."

Yes it will take work.
The good news is that with work the relationship could grow to be something far better than it was before.

"i am so scared that i will do and accept anything to get him back."

It's wise to be aware of this temptation.
Identify the sort of thigns you might be tempted to accept initially, just to get back together, but would then later regret. Be careful to clarify up front rather than assume or hope things will change later on.

"need help."

Although this may sound very humble and even weak, knowign and seeking help to make your recovery successful is a very smart thing.

Read the info found at this site and progress slowly and carefully.

IMHO it would also be a good idea to go to MC together (as long as the MC is a good one with a pro-marriage philosophy). Another thing you and your exH could try is to do a book study or relationship enrichment workshop together.

His Needs/Her Needs would be a good book to read together.

And for yourself, I would recommend reading:
Sassy, Single & Satisfied. Don't let the title put you off, it's not anti-marriage or pro-swinging-single-life. It will help you maintain high standards for yourself and any man you choose to date or marry. So it would help you resist the danger of settling for conditions for reconciliation that would bother you later in the marriage.
