Just wanted to let you all know that Children and Youth services returned custody of oc to ow despite the fact that the OTHER county's CYS helped to convict her of "child endangerment". The good news is that we have petitioned for primary custody and the judge has agreed that our case has enough merit that he wants to hear it all. We are going to court on November 9th. The previous county CYS worker says that she will gladly testify on our behalf that ow is an unfit mother, but ow has the current county's CYS worker on her side. Along with the custody hearing, we have filed contempt charges against ow because she refuses to follow the court-ordered visitation schedule. Our lawyer is hoping the judge will order psychiatric evaluations on everybody, because he says ow will crack under the pressure - and I think he is right.<P>So please pray for us on Nov. 8th.<P>We DID have one all-day visit with oc this last Sunday and it was absolutely fantastic. Oc and our boys got along really well and had a great time together. At one point, oc and my 4 y.o. boy ran into each other and bumped heads. My 4 y.o. just shrugged it off (he has a head of steel) but Darling started sobbing and ran and jumped up on my lap and wrapped her arms around me for comfort. I felt for the first time some actual maternal feelings towards her kick in. I have always cared about her, but this was a level up from before.<P>On the down side, the grandmother that I wrote was sick a couple of months ago died on Tuesday. I'm still kind of an emotional mess about that.<P>-cd

cd, i am sooo sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother. i will wish you luck for you nov. courtdate. i go to a CS hearing this thurday, any pointers anyone can give me i certainly would appreciate it. remember i am in PA.
