My husband was released from the hospital last night but not before running tests to make sure he would be alright this time.
Apparently he wasn't gone long enough to damage his heart. The cat scans and e-rays
were also clear. He looks a mess--his nose is swollen and he has a terrible black eye--
but he is doing fine.
The truama doctor gave me a name for what happened to my husband but I can't remember what it was. He said that it can happen when you've had a head injury that causes even a slight concusion. I guess it's one of the reasons why you shouldn't go to sleep for 24 hours after a head injury...you can't tell someone when you become nauseated. Guess that's not an old wives tail afterall.
My husband is such a doof (I don't mean that disrespectfully...only affectionately) that he complained to the doctor that he wasn't gone long enough to see heaven or even hell (I certainly wouldn't want to see that place!!!) and didn't get to see the bright lights every one talks about!! I'm glad he didn't....he was gone long enough as it was!!!
Anyway, thank you so very much for all your prayers. I believe that one of the most important assets anyone could have are people who will hold you up in prayer during a crisis. So, again.....thank you, thank you
thank you!!
My love and continued prayers to you all
CJ
Jill, I've still had you on my mind over the week end (it really did help to think about someone else's situation) and I have had some thoughts that I wanted to share with you but since my husband is up and wants to use the phone, I'll wait a little bit. In the mean time I'm still praying for you.
CJ

I'm so glad he's going to be okay! Tell him that he didn't get to see anything 'cause it wasn't his time... also tell him that he will get to see it one day, and to stop being so impatient about it! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Faith is a wonderful thing.
Hugs to you, Mynabird

Thanks Mynabird, I'll tell him that.
His chest is still sore from the doctor hitting him and every time someone makes him laugh he's "reminded" of how close he came to seeing those lights...I agree with you .... it's not his time to go.
I was thinking today about all the close calls we've had--even the accident was a close call...if he had been in the intersection just one second earlier the other car would have broad sided him on the drivers side and it would have been much worse. Anyway, it often makes me wonder what on earth we would do without God in our lives to keep us safe and to comfort us and all the other things he does for us.
Sometimes I guess we need to be reminded that he is still there and that he still loves us and still hears us when we call out to him (I did when I heard the doctor say that my husband wasn't breathing....out loud....I didn't care who heard me)
Don't mind me, I'm in one of those moods tonight and I'm rambling. It still amazes me that God even bothers with us.
CJ
