Antidepressant Remeron Any one on this?????

I started taking this drug last Thursday. The doctor said it would take probably three weeks to see any effect. I have noticed that I am sleeping a little better which is one of the effects of the drug. <P>I was wondering if anyone else was taking it and what effects good or bad you were having? <P>I hope that it starts working soon because I am feeling at the end of my rope with no hope in sight. My H continues to see the OW behind my back and continues to lie about it. I guess it is just another day in his fantasyland.

<BR>bc,<P>I don't take any antidepressants, but IIRC Remeron is a tetracyclic that generally does *not* cause the dreaded sexual side effects (e.g., anorgamsmia) that the typical SSRI antidepressants do. I was on Effexor for six months. It helped a little. I think when a situation causes depression it is harder for the medication to work (until the situation improves). However, I couldn't sleep on Effexor so was switched to Remeron last Wednesday. I am sleeping but feeling worse so I don't know what to do now. Think I should give it a few weeks before I try changing again. As I said, I think the medicine would work better if I wasn't living with an adulterer!

Yes I am sleeping better too. That was a big problem that I just couldn't get any sleep especially when my H went out and didn't come home till the next day. I am also still living in the same house as my H and find it very hard to be in that situation where he still is seeing the OW. <P>I have told him how this makes me feel. I have only been on the meds for 5 days and I don't really know if there is any change. The doctor said it will take about three weeks to notice a change. I guess I will just have to wait and see and for now the much needed sleep is good.

I took this once or twice several months ago, but I discontinued because it knocked me out completely--I felt sleepy all the next day. And I just took 1/3 tab. Maybe I'm just very sensitive to medication. I've been meaning to ask Doc about this. <P>Have been taking small amounts of Bu-Spar, an anti-anxiety med, and this helps a little. Like you, I'm coping with a H who still hasn't cut contact w/OW. Tends to cause all kinds of ugly side effects, i.e. loss of sleep, weight, etc. God willing, this, too, shall pass! Let me kmow how you do -- and God bless!
