I got home from work unexpectatly early and had a hang up call that I suspect ws OW. Now awhile ago I asked H to ask her not to call here and hang up and he said he did. Should I tell him we are having hang up calls again?
Her # is blocked so i cant be positive. But I called the phone co and put a block on our line so blocked calls can not call here.
I want to do what BC did and call her and ask her not to call here again, but I lost her #. and I have no proof that it was her. I did say **** is that you? I am not a fast thinker on my feet or I would have said this is H wife, and we are trying to work on our marriage but its hard with a 3rd person involved. What do you think?

Lora,
I can feel for you. I went thru a long time where it always seemed like when I was home during the week and sometimes on the weekend when I answered the phone I got hung up on. My H said it was just telemarketers. Well I don't think they call at 7:30am or at 2am etc. It continued and unfortunately we don't have call blocking available or believe me I would have used it.
I had told myself I wouldn't call her because it would just lower myself to her level but I came to the point where I had enough. It was like a game that while I was at work she would call or when she thought I was out doing my shopping she would call. Well tonight I blew my stack and called her and told her not to call. I am not sure whether or not it will stop but at least I let her know where I stand. I am not a meek mouse that will sit back an allow this in MY HOME any more. I told her it was OUR house and I didn't want her calling my H here.
Don't know if this helps but it did make me feel better. However, I had positive proof it was her calling. I might have been a bit more hesitant if I wasn't sure.

I think you did the right thing by having the phone company switch it so that you can not receive any blocked calls. Just leave it at that, unless something else is done.

Lora, it may be OW, but it may not.
I read in my local paper recently that telemarketing companies now have equipment that dials numbers at random -- 10 at a time. Whichever is the first one in which someone picks up, that's the one the representative takes -- and the others hang up.
I get a lot of these hang-up calls too, especially during peak telemarketing hours -- like dinnertime.
It was probably a good idea to call the phone company, though. But if it keeps up, you might want to have them check to see if it's telemarketers.

Interestingly enough, I just started to get calls from the OW for the first time finally. First time she called I actually laughed out loud on the phone! Then I said "good for you!" She hung up after cursing at me. Second time another adult picked up the phone and I was out. OW demanded to know where I was and spoke very rudely as the adult would not answer without knowing whom she was talking to first. The OW refused to give her name, of course, so the adult who took the call refused to disclose any info on my whereabouts.
I told H and he was actually very upset as he feels she has no right to call much less to talk to me as she does given what the two of them have done to hurt me and this marriage. Within 48 hours, we had our phone number changed. Hasn't been as big a pain to inform folks who need to know as I thought it would be so I woudl suggest you do the same. Just change the number and go unlisted.

I would have gladly gotten a new unlisted number but my problem is that the phone is only in my H's name and I can't change it and he won't change it because he said it would be too much trouble telling people what the new number is. However, that was before the OW kept calling and he told her not too.

Very unfortunate for me that call blocking isn't available yet in my area, neither is caller ID, *67 etc etc. boy I wish it were.

Dear Lora: We have caller ID, so if it comes up anonymous, we don't answer. If they don't want us to know who's calling, then it must not be important. We have Call Notes as well so if it's a government agency, they usually leave a message. We have teen prank calls and they start talking garbage, I usually say I work for the police or FBI and we'll be notifying your parents after I am done completing the trace which is just about now. They hang up before I am finished talking. The funny thing is they don't call back. I get a good laugh out of that.
Have you already changed your number? Is it listed? Don't worry about being a fast thinker, she is not worth your time. You want to know another funny thing? When a call comes in and my spouse doesn't recognize the number, he asks me if I know. Talk about rebuilding trust. One of many steps(right or wrong) in rebuilding our marriage. No OM(s) or his old, scraggly, nasty, smelly OW friends(s) call our house.(oops I got carried away) I am on a good roll today. I had not been doing well earlier this week, but I feel alot better today so please forgive my spontaneous behavior. Good luck and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Girl...
Leave it alone and just see what happens. Have you and your H been getting along? If you have then don't let this change that!! Perhaps she is actually LB'ing... don't play into her hands... I would suggest to try and resist the temptation until you know something more concrete. But I believe that you should always keep your eyes open.
It sounds like there is the possibility that it was a non-related incident. Chalk it up to that and just observe and use common sense.
Genie
