I know that many of you are concerned and interested in what has "gone down" about the confession. I felt I should update you on a problem that arose.
I have never mentioned until now that my wife is a physician. It turned out (I did not know) that she is on call this weekend. I did not bring the matter up last night because she has two hospitals to round today. In addition to rounding, she is subject to being paged at any time and having to leave. She also, naturally, is subject to being awakened with pages during the night (twice last night) when she is on call.
I hope that you understand that I don't feel I can lay this on her at a time when she is called on to make decisive and accurate judgements as to dosages and treatments, and also might have to leave to attend to someone at anytime during our conversation. If you were that "someone," you would especially agree.
She goes off call Monday morning. This brings up a difficult decision about doing it on a weeknight, especially Monday when, in almost all times previous, she is tired from her call weekend. I will do my best to see if there's any way to take care of this Monday evening, if I don't do it this weekend. I hope that each of you will understand why this has had to be delayed, esp. those of you who talked about unpredictable reactions.
Thanks for all the concern. The prayers and good thoughts are not wasted; they are being stored up for the eventual application I'm sure.
Ivory

FWIW, I think the delay, under these circumstances, makes perfect sense. So, we'll keep our fingers crossed for you both another couple of days...
