Hello,
Most of you are not familiar with my situation. To make a long story short, my wife and I are a classic case, many EN's not met, EA/PA's. For the majority of the 3 years our efforts failed. Recently we had a "break through" in our marriage recovery. My wife came to the realization that she suffers from behavior addictions. As far as she can remember she has felt this way since she was 12 or 13 years old. She has had a repeated pattern since then, drugs, alcohol, fitness, risk taking, you name it, she has tried to use it to fill the void she has inside her. My part in this is I did not fill the void she has either and it has lead to resentment, the "numb" feeling I read so much about here. We have a long road ahead of us with no promises that our marriage will return. But I'll take it after living through the fog so long.
I would appreciate any information and past experiences concerning addictive behavior. She has taken the first step and started counceling, but I have no idea what to expect.
BTW, she will most likely read this post. She has taken the time to browse this site and will be reading your responses. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Yes, this makes me very happy!!!!
