My WH picked up our daughters yesterday to take them for the day and night. He was 1 hour late getting here...and showed up not long after my mother arrived from Florida.
Very tense situation.
He stayed here for a few minutes talking to me about the bills and then he got the girls' things and left. I couldn't take it....after the little ones gave me a kiss and a hug I had to leave the room because I was crying. It rips my heart out when he takes them...especially when they aren't feeling well.
On the way out the door our oldest daughter informed him that she probably wasn't going to spend the night. He didn't say anything.
They left......I noticed that he forgot a couple of things that were layed out for him to take with them. I called him on his cell phone and he came back to get them. About 20 minutes later he calls me and says that he didn't have enough money to pay one of the bills and wondered if I would give it to him until Monday. I agreed. He came over and got it. About 30 minutes later he called me again and asked me if I would call somewhere for him and tell them that he will be in on Monday to pay that particular bill.
I agreed....that was the end of it.......till later that night.
I cannot stand to stay at home without the girls being here....so I went out.
At about 11:00 p.m. I get a phone call. My WH is on the other end. He says our oldest has a headache and wants to know what I give her for them. BUT....since the only thing in my sisters house is Excedrin....what the heck is he doing calling me and telling me about it and asking me what I give her? He then went on to tell me about the girls evening...saying that they had been playing and all that....no big deal....still think it's odd of him to call for that reason.
He's about ready to get off the phone and says....well....have a good time...I say thank you...I will....and then...he makes a stupid comment......Go find you a boyfriend. I lost it...not literally....said I'm getting off of here.....bye. Later found out this conversation took place in front of our oldest daughter.
At about 12:00 I get a call from him again.....oldest daughter wants to talk to me. She tells me that she wants to come home. I talk her into trying to lay down and go to sleep...she says she will try. Wh gets back on the phone....says he has to go....littlest one is ready to go to sleep....I'd say....it's 12:00 a.m.!!!!!!!
1:00 a.m........I get another call. This time it's my oldest daughter....talking softly and crying.
She says....mommy I want to come home.
I said....did you ask your daddy to bring you home?
She said....I would....but he's asleep.
I'm livid at this point. My WH falls asleep while our oldest daughter is still awake when he knows she is uncomfortable and scared.
I told her to wake him up and tell him how she felt....she tried but he wouldn't let her....just told her....lay back down <D> I'm not taking you home.
She comes back to the phone crying....and told me where she was.....she was in the bathroom with the door closed.....she was afraid to let her dad know that she called me.
I told her to go in and ask him if it was ok if mommy picked her up. He said....I don't care...but your mom isn't going to come pick you up.
I'm VERY livid at this point....this man doesn't seem to care about what she is going through.
It's almost 2:00 a.m.....I'm very tired....but my daughter is upset...scared.....what do I do?
I finally told her to go wake her dad up and let me talk to him.....she didn't want to...was afraid he'd be mad at her for calling me.
He got on the phone I told him what was going on since he was asleep. He got a little upset...said that she needed to quit lying to him about her feelings. I got a little angry and said don't you think you need to quit lying to her by telling her that all she has to do is say she wants to come home and you will take her....and then refuse to do it?
He got mad and handed the phone back to my daughter.
I told her....I'll be there in a half hour to pick you up....think she's been through enough at this point.
She tells her dad.....and all the sudden he decides he wants to have a talk with her. I said...talk to her while I'm on my way there....I'm coming to get here.
I get there.....ask her if she is ready to go....ask my WH is our little one is still running a fever...he says no.....I said come on <D>....turned around and walked back to the truck.
As I was backing out of the driveway I looked at him standing there.....he looked like he was crying. Oh well.....he made his decision...he has to live with it.
I also found out that the "talk" he had with her consisted of mostly things about him.....not what he was supposed to be talking to her about. Her feelings.
He talked to about him living with my sister....about him moving to a different place with her....all that.
Actually came out and told her that he was dating the OW....I can't believe he did that.
I can't believe he cares so little for her to let her go through something like this.
Sorry this is so long.....but I'm still fuming over this.....what do you all think about it?

My husband is doing similar things with our 4 kids. It is so difficult.
They really can't see past their own needs and desires. I don't understand it. They want everyone to approve of their behavior. It doesn't matter who gets hurt in the process.
I don't know what to do either...except be there for the kids. Sometimes it is hard because I am dealing with my own hurt. We are working hard on being there for each other. I am amazed at how well my kids have been helping me and each other. What a mess.
I am sorry he is doing this to you and the kids. It is so very painful. I will keep you in my prayers.

Dear MP,
How deeply hurt you and your children must be. Let your H cry. He needs to. Don't really know what to say to make it go away.
<<<hugs to you and your children>>>
Through all those tears be happy that you are still loved by your family. When your child needed comfort, it was you she called not her dad.

Take Care,
L.
