I hated Jim's justification-- "I wasn't happy for a long time but I didn't realize it until I met Molly" or something like that. And remember, he's saying this to Ed, whose wife was screwing the mailman! I really hope Molly realizes that she deserves more of man than Jim is. Actually, I think Ed and Molly would make a great couple. Now there would be a really daring plot twist!
I also was disgusted that Ed fell into bed with that bimbo who kissed him on the street. They knew each other for about 48 hours.
I am getting to be such a prude in my old age. Twenty years ago I thought nothing of hopping into bed myself. But that was before AIDS and I have a much greater appreciation for how quick sex is ultimately unsatisfying now than I used to. I'm impatient that the rest of the world hasn't caught up with me.

ok SNL, I know you are ignoring me, but if you read that horoscope I ran for you, you will see that it had a very accurate description of your personality. In fact, the horoscope chart that I ran for myself was much closer to my true personality than was the Keirsey Temprament Test. Did you read the horoscope that I ran for you??

not ignoring you melody, and I didn't mind your opinion re temperament...I do think it is good science, accurate, and reproducible.
As for horoscopes ...sigh.... boy radical honesty is tough... I wanna say oh that was nice, and say yeah some was ok, blah blah blah, but that would not be true, so here goes
I am a Chrisitian (albeit a fallen something at the moment), and a rationalist, who firmly believes in the scientific method.... I have absolutely no interest in, or belief of horoscopes, they mean absolutely nothing to me.... if perchance I somehow felt pulled to a reading, and a need to contemplate it, I would be certain it was temptation from satan.... that about covers it....
Plz, I hope you do not feel bad, I am not in the slightest miffed or anything, and I appreciate whatever goodwill was present in your doing that...ok? (worried look).

hehee, don't worry, SNL, I also think that horoscopes are silly as heck and have the same religious problem with them that you do. The point that I was trying to make is that they are just as, if not MORE, accurate than the Kiersey tests. In my case, the horoscope was much more accurate.
Anyway, I apologize for being a smartass and for having fun with your Keirsey tests.

ah, a comparison huh, ok something we can sink our teeth into....it seems most horoscopes are pretty general and can fit a wide range of people, and when they are wrong, we just overlook em...so ok, mine said I was intellectual, well, they have a 50/50 chance on that trait, pretty good odds, and then if we fudge it, ups the odds even more (well gee, I am not really an intellectual, but sometimes I am...and so forth and so on)......likewise you cannot predict a sign from observing someone, but you can predict there temperament (from taking a test) with a high degree of accuracy, if you observe someone closely for awhile.....likewise, horoscopes cannot predict job performance, but tests do, and are used extensively (and businessman do not pay good money for something that does not work).
I took an extensive set of tests (for a job) a long time ago, psych profiles essentially (and I don't remember the title)...the results were interesting, I am not particularly sympathetic (something I know, and something predictable from my temperament profile)....but I was quite empathic, in fact was pretty much off the chart in comparison to population in general, also predictable by my specific temperament (the kind of rationalist I am) and the raw scores. I have a lot of ability to feel what people feel, and thereby get in their heads...this can get you into a lot of trouble and it is not something I work at, or learned, it just happens.
Anyways horoscopes can only "predict" stuff coincidently, and are pretty vague, whereas psychological profiling is very useful...likewise the military, nasa, fbi, etc. all use these tools extensively, they wouldn't do this if it did not yeild useful results...... methinks you do not like to be figured out melody and subconciously sabotague such tests

I LOVE horoscopes. I don't look at them to see what my day will be like or anything -- most of those things are full of crappola. But let me tell ya... I've met WAAAY too many people born in my month who are big mouth friendly jovial folks... it's too many to be a coinsidence (sp?)!
I've gotten into arguments with people about this, of course, esp. at church. I am not, I repeat, NOT a Satanist because I find horoscopes fascinating. I simply think that it's interesting when every Leo I know is stubborn and a natural born leader. Virgos are organized... I could go on and on... I've seen it too many times, that's all.

Sheryl,
while we are skipping down memory lane of our asorted childhoods, do you know the lyrics to Petticoat Junction (I have no idea why I can't keep part of it out of my head but the words just won't come)
i loved mr ed. i was navie I really thought he talked for a long time, and you know now kids would NEVER believe that he was talking
we must never outgrow our childhood because I have classes of high schoolers that can sing every word of the Teenage Muntant Nija Turtles, Looney Tunes, but especially TMNT, all of them every word
[ February 28, 2002: Message edited by: sing ]

Green Acres, a spin off from Petticoat Junction, doncha know (and I saw the originals too, ya know):
Greenacres is the place to be
Farm livin' is the life for me
Land stretchin' out so far and wide
Keep Manhatten just give me that countryside.
New York is where I'd rather stay
I get allergic smelling hay
I just adore a penthouse view
Darh-lin' I love you but give me Park Avenue.
Fresh Air!
Times Square!
The chores!
The stores!
You are my wife.
Goodbye, city life.
Greenacres we are there.

Westerns? I don't know no Westerns!
'Cause see, my grandparents watched Gunsmoke and all dem, but *I* didn't, and I don't ... although remember The Rifleman, and that kid of his with that girly voice that always screeched "Pa!"...
No, if you want me to do lyrics, it's gotta be sitcoms -- mostly 70's through the 80's -- I'm only good on 70's sitcoms on Jeopardy, but I bet ya'll know that!
