I'm getting a bit tired of the 'woe is me' attitude on the boards lately. I'm sure I've been contributing to it as well, but it's time for something more lighthearted.
Since I've joined MB, I've posted this same question a few times, just to help everyone think better thoughts, and to feel good about whatever accomplishments - no matter how small - they have made today.
What did you do today to make you feel good about yourself?
For me:
- I finished my laundry this afternoon so that I wouldn't have to do it tonight (with 3 kids under 3 yrs of age, laundry is a daily event). - I took a walk to the store to mail out some birthday cards to my mum and her twin brother. - I shaved my legs from ankle to hip! (I'm still in awe how good that makes me feel..hehehe) - I enjoyed having my kids 'attack' me in the living room (I swear, once I sit down on the carpet, I become a baby magnet! ). - I rearranged my (soon to be) 3 yr old's dresser.
How about you?
Karen

Hi Topie, WOW! You are a SuperMom! I'm in awe of you!
What did I do today to feel good about myself?? - Well, I'm GOING to skip a 4-hour a.m. meeting and sleep instead!!!

Yesterday, I: - took a 45-minute walk along the lovely west coast soaking in the scenery of the shoreline night lights and ocean breeze. It was wonderful. My oldest is in the process of joining the Marines and he went to workout with his recruiter. My plan was to follow them at a distance to see what they are doing to my baby. But they ditched me so I just went for a walk by myself!
- I made sure the rest of my family had dinner before I left.
- I spent some QT with my twins before their bedtime. I gave them both back, leg and footrubs and lots of hugs and kisses.
- Gave myself a deep-cleansing facial.

On Sunday, I - Jogged/walked in a 5K at the LA Marathon after watching the wheelchair marathon racers zoom by... Their display of strength and determination and courage left me in tears. Some had no legs and some had only 1 leg. They were truly amazing.
- Afterward, I soaked my feet!
- And I gave my H a pedicure, too.

p.s. Watching the wheelchair racers didn't "make me feel good about myself," but they made me feel better about my so-called problems... Watching them made me feel like I didn't know what real problems are, really... Watching them made me realize that my youngest son would really love watching something like that as he too uses a wheelchair...
