Couple video and audio taped while discussion of a marital problem. He had done something to make her not trust him. She was still mad about it. He was asking her to trust him, had a sad hangdog look on face. She got a look of contempt, rolled eyes, and said thats not going to happen. Later it was pointed out to them that he needs to STOP ASKING FOR TRUST because it is rediculous request because she has good reason NOT to. His asking pushes her buttons, her look of contempt is EMOTIONALLY VIOLENT. They were told to stop this, (break the cycle) or their marriage was not going to improve. Amazing how a LOOK, or TONE of VOICE, or asking for something that is unreasonable can destroy a marriage. And to boot the thing he did wrong was NOT infidelity, it was something far less painful. Just shows me that a couples habits of dealing with conflict are already in place, will simply be MAGNIFIED when something as painful as infidelity happens. Infidelity sure brings out the worst in us, but it sure will bring other issues to light also.
