M2L,

Glad you added the "+ Picnic" to your title. Did you find Retrouville info? Sounds like you've traveled all over looking for a nice picnic spot. Great idea, Rock.

I was wondering about some of us who say we love it so much we think we're addicted. If/when you think we should start an "MB lurking/posting addiction" thread, just give us the heave/ho.

Thanks,
Ace

Hi Carnation, You say you registered in 2005 but this registration only includes 36 posts from 2007. I looked but couldn't find your sitch and you don't include a sig. line. It doesn't really matter, but I was wondering why you were here in 05, why you left, and now why you're back again. Just curious.

What symptoms do you have suggesting you're addicted to MB forums?

Ace

PS Texas briskit sounds great on the barbie!

I don't know if I would call myself addicted. I just know that I find so much comfort here from all the wisdom of the experts. I think I should be doing more though in the real life world of my marriage. If that makes any sense.

P.S. I pick Pep for the sack race cuz I like a challenge...right Pep?

your challenge will be making a veddy veddy VEDDY OLD decrepit lady run-while-laffin' hysterically.... usually a very "wet" experience (if you get my drift) ... but I got game

I think it makes perfect sense, Rock. I don't think it is a totally negative thing to gravitate to where you and I find hope and healing...

....but when posting makes you chronically late for work, you can't focus, you find yourself lurking hourly and when you can't post from work, you email co-posters suggesting that they check out certain threads that could use their perspective based on what you've learned previously.....that borders on the negative side of an addiction....IMVHO.

For instance, early today I saw that Knack123 needed help from all the pros. Chrisner and I were the only ones posting....two virtual rookies from different perspectives....I suggested C put out an APB but then had to go to work.

He did eventually, but I checked that thread every hour, hoping and praying someone would come to Knaks's assistance. He posted 3 pleas for help and then C did his APB. When Mulan, Mark and Pep (and maybe another person) showed up with solid advice, I quit lurking and worked for about an hour.

In the meantime, I got very little work done.

I think I need an intervention. Any ideas?

Pep,

Your timing in finding my sack race challenge and posting to it is 'in-PEP-ible'.

I was just talking about you (thanks for helping Knak).

Glad you got game. If the lady driving from Houston to Florida can wear them, you can 'depend' on a pair for our sack race!

While I'm baring my shortcomings here....does anyone else have an obsessive/compulsive inclination involving numbers? Like just as I was about to log off, I noticed that this thread had 499 views....so I just had to click on it to give it an even increment of 500.

Hey Pep.....you said that Chrisner is not an idiot....yet, but wouldn't you say I'm nearly as far down the road as he is?

Hi Ace -- if you are interested, look up carnation or carnation2. Every time I get a new computer, I end up having to redo my log in names.

Carnation2 did have a sig line... carnation did not... it should all be there...

and, no offense - but brisket is done on a smoker....

Hi Carnation,

I'll look up your sitch.

In the meantime, get that brisket into the smoker! (no offense taken....I don't care how you 'cook' it....) LOL

So where's the picnic today?

Honestly...I'm thinking of taking a vacation next week just so I can post all day....maybe I'll get my addiction out of my system.

Thanks for your kind words, M2L.....we newbies sometimes wonder if we have a place to fit in somewhere (at least I do) and your wishing I could post in the daytime makes me feel welcome....even if I'm constantly bordering on TJing your thread with my addiction talk. (I do love it here....maybe too much!)

Great thread, M2L and very needed awareness, too.

Ace

Ace and all others:

Please feel free to TJ with anything you want. Most threads here are very specific as they should be.

I too love to help and be helped here. I still don't understand all of the things going on within some of the post. I guess somethings are inside jokes.

Sack race - I take ML, we could win by a big hair - right??

DFW - great place and the food sound damn good!!!
