I need a picnic, too. Who cares about the weather....well, except for the fog that just descended about an hour ago....but we have MC today so hopefully it will clear....standby....
Thanks SW and Rock for resurrecting this thread at such an intriguing time....(due to fog).

M2L...ya been readin' the fishing forum and not commenting? That's the only place I mentioned my compulsive obsessions with multiples of 5, I think.
Speaking of fishing, BBQ salmon sounds good, too.
Ya made me laugh out loud, M2L. Great thread...keep it goin' as I have to get back to work....again.

Ace Ace, you wrote this back on 3-15-07 "While I'm baring my shortcomings here....does anyone else have an obsessive/compulsive inclination involving numbers? Like just as I was about to log off, I noticed that this thread had 499 views....so I just had to click on it to give it an even increment of 500." We used to catch lots of salmon and lake trout around the power plant intakes this time of year when I was doing that sort of stuff. One of the guys had an old fashioned smoke house on his property and we ate smoked salmon till mid-winter on almost every job. (When I say a lot; I mean a LOT...like a few hundred pounds of the stuff after it was turned into fillets-We used to share it with the security guys so they'd let us take it out around 4 am or so and split it again with the owner of the motel so we could use his walk-in freezer till the job ended)
Ace,
I knew we had lurkers in the fishin' forum...Somebody give me a little feed back, will ya? It ain't easy trying to keep coming up with a meaningful segue from fishing to MB principles, ya know...
Actually, I have another idea to try out and I'll be working on it this week. When I get time to sit down and put the keys to it, I'll post it. (For all the lurkers who read but don't post)
And, Ace...for it to be REAL BBQ, it has got to be brisket.
Unless you're from Tennessee, then it's pork shoulder.

Brisket – sounds good. Heck any BBQ sounds good. Hey, that reminds me Mark. How’s that oozing wound of yours? All better?

M2L,
It's got skin on it again. The graft took really well and I can even work out again.
It looks like h377. It feels like cardboard glued to my chest. It will take a long time to be really healed (We all know about lengthy healing processes around here)
But it's better today than yesterday and will be even better tomorrow...Hey, it is just like recovery from an A, isn't it?

SW....it's M2L's thread ya bumped so I guess you/we have to take what we get, huh?
M2L, actually I am honored that you recalled (and dug up and cut and pasted) my first mention about my compulsive obsessive behavior! I guess I mentioned it first here and then secondly on the fishing forum about my multiples of 5, (not odd and even as I alluded to by saying "even of 500").
Actually, I was just trying to segue from this 'love/hate MB' thread onto the fishing forum to generate for comments for Mark's masterpieces.
Have you read them M2L? C'mon, now, humor me now that you've attempted to insult me.....fishing boat captain...hey I want to go fishing with my H, so who knows? Maybe I will take up captainship when I grow up. (That, of course, is assuming I WILL grow up one day....LOL!)

Remember when I was guessing your job and hoped that MB didn't interfere with it. Well I was hoping that you were not the captain of the boat that sank off the Greek Island. You know, reading here too much to see the rocks coming at you. LOL And no I have not been reading that thread about fishing. Sorry.

Ouch....double whammy....I was too lazy to confirm your 'profession' you mentioned on the previous page and I had fishing on my mind.
Mark's thread is entitled "Fishing Lessons for Ace" but it is much much more and has helped my H and me in our M as well. It's not too late to start raeding it now, M2L....chapter by chapter.
Whatever new idea you have Mark, please post it in GQII, K? I'm glad I did not suggest the Recreation section for my fishing lessons, but I must admit that with over 400 views I thought you/we would have more feedback, too.
Ace
PS M2L...when I post my chapter 6 of My Mr. Romance thread, you'll see a bit of what I actually do. Have you read that thread in the Romance section?

Ace,
I have a couple of ideas I’m working on, but have been a bit down for a few days.
It’s a combination of things, really. This past weekend was the one-year anniversary of the first emails and phone calls that I discovered last May. To make matters worse, W did a couple of things in the last week that I considered major IB. She bought a new camera for a couple hundred bucks. Not a lot of money, but it was the same day that she was complaining about my medical bills and how we have no money to pay them. My share is only a couple thousand bucks or so out of nearly $70K.
Then on Thursday she had to drive about two hours away for work. She didn’t tell me she was going, but that wasn’t what I had a problem with. After she got done at her customer’s plant, she traveled another 3 ½ hours to visit her sister. I have no problem with SIL, but I didn’t find out she was going until she called me to tell me why she was going to be late getting home.
Then on Monday morning I found some saved (CD back-ups) emails, poems and stories to/from/about OM. I asked her to eliminate all copies of them and she did, as far as I can determine, but has been standoffish ever since. I could do a major vent on what these contained, but it would only get my blood pressure up and it will pass eventually. Suffice it to say that some of this stuff hurt a LOT. I’ll take another surgery over what I read Monday morning any day.
And yep, I heard the line "Can't we just move forward and forget about the past?"
OTOH, W and are scheduled to attend a biblically based marriage conference the last weekend of April. She made the arrangements for the conference on Monday and I made the motel reservations yesterday. I have been wanting to ask her all morning what it is she expects to get from this conference, but have decided to wait till she seems more able to discuss real issues instead of feeling hurt over what she perceives to be criticism.
And the good news is that I’m working out again and my chest is healing nicely. It no longer looks like I have a cube steak glued to my chest. It still looks pretty gross but seldom hurts (much) any more...
Sort of like the rest of my life…

Hi Mark,
Sorry for your setback, or "opportunity for growth" as it may be. What's with the early April triggers? You're one of many who mentioned it. Mine are because Ressurection Sunday is when H started his 'friendly chatter' with OW according to the cell records and emails.
Regarding your upcoming M conference.....kudos for not asking what she expects from it. Just go and be thankful she made the initial arrangements. Where is it?
This thread is for 'all topics' so can ya give me an inkling of what you're thinking about or are ya gonna make me/us wait?
Glad you're healing well but I think we'll take 'cube steak' off the BBQ list of options....whatdayathink....?

Ace,
It's just outside Indianapolis of all places...Could be worse, if it was near Louisville, I wouldn't be going.
[color:"red"]"can ya give me an inkling of what you're thinking about or are ya gonna make me/us wait?"
I'm thinking about "the right tools"...That enough of a tease for ya?
Well, cube steak isn't of much good on the barbie anyway. Aren't you glad I didn't say it looked like a raw chicken breast right after the first surgery?
Of course when I first went to the doctor it looked more like a pork chop.
Anything else you'd like me to spoil while I'm here?
As for my "growth opportunity;" if I had read this cr@p right after Dday I'd be in a different forum right now. Some of what was involved simply makes me sad, but a couple of things make me want to start shooting...Or is that shouting? I kept myself under control. I didn't put any holes in the wall (I just got the ones from DS break up with GF fixed not long ago.) I'm not that fond of the smell of paint, Spackle and taping mud.
The whole thing just irritates the heck out of me...From my point of view it seems that she lost weight, got into the best shape of her life, got hit on by a serial cheater whose W had left him for it and began writing sexy love stories and poems for the schmuck. Then, when she decided to end the A and stay married, she gained 40 pounds, stopped working out, decided SF was not all that it was cracked up to be and started trying to write stories about our granddaughter....ARGH!!!!!
Thanks! I feel much better now.
Not really, but it might have helped gerade ein wenig...
Maybe the problem has to do with Spring being a time for love...
Excuse me while I throw up...
Of course she also took care of me this winter when I really needed her.

Mark,
Go ahead, SHOUT! Hope you got it OUT! (Just don't shoot)
Glad it made you feel better. And glad she was there for you this winter. AAAAAND....glad she is signed up for that marriage conference with you.....aaaaannnnnddddd glad you're healing up with cardboard glued to your chest instead of little microscopic critters mistaking you for BBQ ribs.......it looked like it was on your ribs at least.
Looking forward to your 'tool time' idea when it's ready. Does that mean my fishing lessons are completed before I can even get out on the water? THANK YOU FOR ALL THE EFFORT YOU PUT INTO THOSE "LIFE & MARRAIGE LESSONS" since I challenged you on the Valentine's Day thread. (Don't want to close the book prematurely, so if there's more, I won't complain.)

Ace,
I'm working on something for the fishing thread regarding using the right "tools" for the job at hand. Fishing lessons could go on a long time, if I don't burn out completely while writing the thread. So, my topic of "the right tools" isn't a new thread, but the continuation of the old one...Not a new topic, only a new chapter in the old one...Ich bin ein Fischer...
